You might remember me by my Weekly Chip Pr0n threads back from 2009 on Chiptalk - the ones with the extreme closeups.
I am letting some of my sets go. Since it was suggested by several users that I should auction them off to give everyone a chance at the chips.

Up for auction: a very unique set of 486 MotorCity Casino Detroit Paulson clay chips

Breakdown:
$ 0.25 202
$ 1 164
$ 5 120

The Sahara Plaques shown in the pictures are NOT part of the set I am selling.

This is probably the only playable set of these chips out there. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Back when I was into chip collecting, I fell into love with these chips, and then decided that I needed to get a playable set. I found someone who lived near the MotorCity Casino, who went there and played for these chips. He went many, many times until the set was complete, as it is now, and you can imagine that this service didn't come cheap.
As far as I know, these are still live chips.
I thoroughly cleaned, and oiled, all chips.

The chips still are in the same condition seen in the pictures, since they have only seen the felt once afterwards. In addition to that, I always forbid my players to shuffle the chips. The pictures were taken when the chips were freshly oiled, so they have dried up a little since then.

Auction ends on Sunday, March 19th, 22.00 EST (= 19.00h PST / for Europeans: March 20th, 04.00h CET)

Starting bid is USD 1700.00

Shipping is extra, of course, and depends on where you live, and the service you want. I myself live in Berlin, Germany. Since the parcel will weigh more than 5 kg with adequate packaging, the prices are as follows:
- standard shipping to US, Canada and most overseas destinations: EUR 53.99
- if you want premium shipping (10-14 days, air mail guaranteed): + EUR 34.00
- if you want insurance: + EUR 28.00 for value of EUR 2,000.00 max / + EUR 42.00 for value of EUR 3,000.00 max
Shipping to EU destinations is EUR 20.99 premium shipping, insurance is extra at the same rates as above.
If you live somewhere else, please PM me for exact shipping costs.

Payment: by money transfer, or PayPal
PayPal Friends&Family comes with a fee on my end, since I live in Germany, and you probably don't. For most overseas residents, it is 2%.
If you cannot send the money in EUR, then a paypal currency conversion fee of 2.5% of the total comes on top.
These fees are on the buyer.
Money transfer is without any fees on my end, but might cost something on your end.

I have a lot of experience with overseas shipping, and chip packaging. In my heydays I owned 46 different sets of poker chips, nearly all of which I bought from overseas. About 20 of them have been sold over the years, also mostly overseas. I have never lost any shipment, and I have a very good idea of what professional chip packaging looks like. I promise the chips will arrive safe and sound!

Cool set! Those motor city quarters seem too busy to me, to be mixed in with other chips. But with their own brothers, they look great. I hope they sell, because somebody should be playing with these chips.

Nice chips! GLWA. I may have to go down there to get a sample. I like the fives.
