Big thanks to p5woody for the inlay design. This is the initial mockup, and I wanted to see what the well trained eyes here thought so far. It's an Island of Atlantis themed small stakes cash set. Denoms are 25c, $1, $5, & $20. The colors I chose were influenced by my honeymoon trip to kauai, the Garden island of Hawaii. There aren't any pics of Atlantis so I just let my imagination run as far as the colors go.

I normally prefer black inlays, but p5woody created a couple of really cool options. I like both and I'm torn on which one I prefer at this point. What do you guys think?

I think with th Atlantis theme, you need color. The full color inlays look great.

I’d have some concern with your quarter and $5 being too similar. Could try a sandy color for the quarter base (yellow? Canary?).

I may go with the 4d14 over the 3d14 for the $5, but haven't decided yet. Let me know which you prefer. Thanks

Try butterscotch for the quarter. That might look good.

bottom row by a mile...the full color works well with that design.
I don't like the color difference between the quarter and five

I prefer black/dark inlays as well, but that bottom row inlay is SICK.

Bottom row 100%
I agree. I've been studying the two inlays off and on and I think I have to go with the blue one. It's just terrific. p5woody came up with both in just a few hours time. Blows my mind. Just a terrific job by him.

As for the frac vs the $5, I have the color sample set from cpc and I keep messing with both the base red and the tiger. I don't see a real problem personally. The red in the sample appears darker than the chip designer version, imo. The tiger is loud and vivid, and separates from the red well to my eyes. However, this is my first attempt at a custom set so I may not realize the potential issue fully. I'm not a fan of deep earthy tones at all. No browns or tans for me. I'm not that fond of yellow either, but if I had to go with one I'd do a yellow, I guess. I'll play around with it and see what happens. Thanks for the input.

This is an updated version of the set. p5woody has tweaked a few things. I love it, but want to get opinions on the changes.
First, made the letters and denoms a bit more bold. He lightened up the blue background in a few places to allow the letters to pop a bit more.

Next, I wanted to try and match the denom color with the base chip color, but the blue $1 wouldn't allow that. So, he offered up the yellow denom option and I think like it slightly more than the original red. He also made the denom a bit more bold and I feel like it is much easier to make out now.

What do you guys think about the changes?

The first three chips have 3 spot configuration and the fourth has 4. I’d probably change that to maintain consistency.

I like the yellow denom a lot better than the red. I’m a fan of making the denom as visible as possible without taking away from the design, and that is definitely way more visible

The only thing more annoying than “what are these worth” when playing with non-denominated chips, is “what are these worth” when playing with denominated chips!!

I've been contemplating changing the 5 to a four spot instead of the three. I've just got to look closer at the budget.

So with the Atlantis resort and casino in the Bahamas (atlantisbahamas.com) less than 200 miles from Miami, with its WPT event, etc., just who is going to actually make these chips?

I really like the inlay idea you have going on. Its like two world's on one inlay. Do you have any clearer close ups?

Hmmm, I didn't realize their was an actual Atlantis casino. I was trying to create a fictitious one for an tropical type of theme. I live in Texas where we don't have casinos. Have to drive to Louisiana or OK to find a casino. I am planning on using cpc for the chips but haven't ordered them yet. Whom should I talk to about possible infringement issues?
I've seen horseshoe casino customs on here. How is that different? Just curious.

I don't understand the problem. There's an Atlantis Casino in Reno, too.

Here's one aspect of the problem, from the US Patent and Trademark Office database: four live trademarks from the Reno Atlantis. That's probably not much of a problem for you, but it could be for whomever makes the chips.

I'd consider making the $20 chip base black. Most standard casino colors would have a green chip as $25.

I just love that you’ve managed to get a clown triggerfish onto an inlay. Epic.

The Atlantis in Reno uses Bud Jones plastic. So, as long as the inlay design is substantially different, and the material composition of the chip is substantially different, and there's no market competition between the casino and the home hobbyist, is there still a problem?

I emailed David from cpc and he said this design is fine because it doesn't have any specific location on it.
That said, I have spent the better part of a few hours thinking of alternate names. I love "Game of thrones" and thought maybe I'd go with "Volantis resort & casino" as a nod to the series. Any thoughts?

Why Volantis, in particular? I'd prefer Braavos. "The Iron Bank always gets its due". Sounds like a tagline on my mortgage statement.

I don’t know, if David says they’ll print it why change it? Unless you want to for other reasons, I wouldn’t based on a few concerns about a resort that used the same theme. I feel like that’s saying someone couldn’t do a New York themed set because of NYNY Las Vegas, right?

You have an awesome set with an epic $1, go for it!!
