I'm looking for one of the cases that ASM used to sell, or similar. Spinettis have smaller ones (250 count) but I'm after at least a 500 capacity, preferably more, if anyone has one gathering dust.

I too am always on the lookout for some of these. I believe they were all hand done by the same people, some fantastic quality work in those presentation cases.

Michael D & Dr Red sold off what inventory remained of the ASM Portland stock when everything moved to LV. I believe the remaining 250 cases Spinettis has were the last ones from that batch. The 250 cases are really nice, too bad they don't hold that many.

I don't have any, but I would love to see pictures of what you are looking for.

Is this one of them? Not for sale, but a beautiful case nonetheless.

I have a 1000pc cherry wood ASM (pokerchipsonline) version but no certainty of value since they aren't available any longer. Please PM me with offers if interested. Thx.

Here is an image off ASM's site in 2012. You have a presentation grade case. It was originally $525... I'd expect that yours is worth more now that ASM is no more and these cases will not be made again.

Wow! I was just about to send him an offer for $150 lol... silly me. Cool case, but I'm certainly not a buyer anywhere near $525 though :(

Just saw the replies. That case is a beauty, but a bit out my price range based on the info from hq. I'd have gone with double what I paid for the 500 case I have (it was $120).

The 'mahogany' eBay case is not too bad, just not actual nice, good looking wood unlike the asm cases. Also it ends up costing me a fortune in shipping and taxes/import duties, so I'd rather spend that on a better case as it were.

Apologies to @hod for the threadjack and threadcrapping lowballers. I have a buyer for mine, thanks.

DIdn't you buy that case from me? I recall selling one to somebody for next to nothing.

mdambach was selling some after ASM Leaving Las Vegas shut up shop.

He might still have one, or point you in the right direction?

I got one but it be engraved!

Me too Toby!
What does your engraving say?
He told me I got the last one.

LOL, he told me the same thing.

That's how he kept the price up...

Yeah, for $500/equivalent, you can probably find a local who makes boxes who can do something nice for you. (If you want to spend even more, there are craftsmen who make gorgeous boxes.)

Perhaps I'm just ignorant about what nice quality wood boxes go for, but $500+ seems remarkably high to me for something like this. I have a friend that does all sorts of high end woodworking projects. I'll see if he's interested in making some custom cases and/or cabinetry. He made a beautiful maple wood octagon table with a removable felt for our home game in Seattle several years back. He's not a chipper, but he is involved in the poker world.

edit: Whoa! ya, I must be ignorant here. That box you linked to looks nice, but $1750? Ya, that's crazy...

ChanMan makes some beautiful custom cases, and some of those go for $700+. I think Big Slick sells 'em for $500+ too. Top-grade materials + excellent craftsmanship = big prices.

Ya, I should probably just put my big boy pants on and pony up the cash if I want nice things! I'll probably be looking for a nice case or two for my Lucky Buddha set when they arrive.

lol, the on-topic banner ads here sometimes crack me up.....

Might try this approach, Travis -- no woodworking project is impossible!

That's awesome! :ROFL: :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

I'd love to learn how to craft some nice storage solutions for my collection. I helped a friend of mine a few times back in the day when he was making some furniture, and there's definitely a lot to learn (or rather, I bullshitted with him while he worked). Plus, I'd need access to a joiner and planer, and I'd have to learn how to use them lol. Then, I'd have to deal with the shitty case I just made, eventually pawning it off on Craigslist for $20 and inevitably paying someone else who knows what they're doing to have it done right! :ROFLMAO:
