So this set has been years in the making for me. I have always wanted to really take the time to figure out what I wanted as a "life time set" and go for it no matter the cost. I have finally done that!

My favorite set has always been the Dunes set so I used it as a guide as I went. I also wanted to create a set that was in tribute to my late uncle whose name was Ace. He loved golf so the Dunes inlay was an easy choice. Pro design was a must so I knew I was going with Johnny 5. I did the design on my California set but this was WAY over my head. J5 knocked it out of the park!

I wanted to use a mold that I would be likely to be supported in the future, I could score 44mm if I wanted, and somehow tied into the theme of the inlay. A Mold was the obvious choice, plus I really like it.

I needed cash and tourney and I wanted to use some bright colors. I wanted to avoid pot confusion so the colors and spots took me forever to figure out! Michael was a huge help and spent a lot of time on the phone with me going over ideas. In the end I am totally satisfied with my choices which is a shock to me

My super huge point of pride is that ASM was able to make a custom spot for me on the $1. The Flamingo $1 is one of my favs and they nailed it here. Jim B. agreed to it as long as Michael align the inlay with the spot himself on each of the $1's. It was above and beyond and I am forever grateful. The result is perfection!

I plan on doing dealer, bounty, seat chips etc. but this is enough for now.

I feel like I have graduated chip college and I owe so much to this place for the education over the years. It all has resulted in a chip set that will last for generations in my family. Such an amazing feeling to have created a family heirloom!

Note there are a couple pics they sent me while they were making them. They still hadn't been trimmed on the edges. I think that is something really cool to have for the collection.

I'm not totally up-to-speed on what happened to the ASM sale to Michael but it sounds like it didn't work out. These chips were made in Maine right as he was finalizing the deal on the purchase of the business if I recall. He was good to me and I wouldn't have gotten the $1's I wanted if it wasn't for his help. Hopefully he is still in good standing with the community but if not, I do owe him my thanks for making this dream set a reality.

Thank you! The 5k is maroon. It looks a bit darker in real life. Looks great with just the 1k on the table. Too close to the 100 though. It was the new color at the time and I was excited for it. I'd go for a few different colors to improve contrast if I were to do it again.
