I was interested in ordering some more Cards Mold chips for myself and since no one was running a buy, I'm going to make my first attempt at running one. Here goes!

Overall
  • This is a group buy for custom 39- and 43mm “Tina” cards mold chips
  • You must supply your own artwork files
  • The minimum order is 500 total chips with increments of 25 for each design/denom
  • The group buy will be capped at approximately 30,000 total chips. First come, first served, outside of space I may reserve for myself and others of my choosing.
  • The target cutoff for interest is April 14, with the goal of placing the final order by the end of April
  • I’m using ~6 months as an estimate for turnaround time between order and delivery
  • @Pinesol13 is handling CONUS re-shipping to avoid a 2-month window where I could not re-ship
  • General asshat clause: I reserve the right to refund, remove, charge exorbitant fees to, and/or publicly shame anyone who causes problems.
Estimated Costs
  • .37 per 39mm chip + shipping
  • .41 per 43mm chip + shipping
Payment
  • Full payment is due once all orders are finalized. I’ll let you know when that time comes. Please pay promptly and in full.
  • In addition to the chip costs, each buyer will be responsible for re-shipping costs to their CONUS address once the chips arrive in ~6 months. @Pinesol13 will be the lead there.
  • Any payments should be made through PayPal friends and family, with ONLY your PCF username in the transaction details.
Shipping
  • Once chips are received, shipping will be via USPS flat rate boxes using this reference as a starting point:
    • 500-600 chips: Medium Flat Rate Box
    • 625-900 chips: Large FRB
    • 925-1,200 chips: 2x Medium FRB
    • 1,225-1,500 chips: Medium + Large FRB
    • 1,525-1,800 chips: 2x Large FRB
    • Note: the above numbers assume orders of mostly 39mm chips. If your order contains a higher percentage of 43mm chips, these estimates may need to be adjusted upward
To join
  • Make sure you’ve read everything above and will participate as I have organized it. I’m trying to make it easy for me to run, and @Pinesol13 to re-ship, and thus easier for you to get your chips in an efficient manner.
  • Post your interest in the thread, along with the number of chips you are likely to order (e.g. In for 800x 39mm and 200x 43mm, etc.)
  • Later, I’ll start a private message with everyone in the group to start sorting out the delivery of art files, payment, and other details before and after we place the order.

Question #1: So I assume I can provide as many designs as I want provided I order in increments of 25?
My intention is for people ordering sets of chips with denoms, instead of add-ons (with the underlying assumption that this would mean fewer art files to manage).
Question #2: Does the price include edgespot alignment? Are we able to print words on the edges?
My understanding is that cards mold chips are default edgespot aligned, but I would confirm that before placing the order. Others who have run buys may be able to answer. @SeanGecko? @lrapley?

I am obviously in! Looking at around 600-800 chips roughly, finalizing my artwork now.

Also tagging @perfectjawnz as I know he was interested in joining a group buy.
Weather in upstate is wild these days…nothing better than taking part in a group buy to weather the storm

Possibly interested, depending on if the hosts in our league are still interested and/or the numbers have changed. Last estimate was 2100 chips (39mm), and I have a US shipping address I can use.

I'll provide an update once I hear back if there is interest and confirm the chip count.

Disclaimer: I would not have a CONUS address so please feel free to ignore this post. Im just putting a dibs in the unlikely event that there is not enough interest and you decide to allow shipping to Canada.

I'd order about 1000x 39mm chips. Artwork is ready to go.

FYI @Pinesol13 is the best shipper ever

You can print words on edges, not extra cost will be charge

For those who want to do 43mm vs 39mm, my experiences is 43mm had much more spinner issues so you may want to take that into consideration

Overall, 39mm QC are much better than the 43mm Batch that I had ordered too

I’d like to be in on this and would want to order 1,200 chips. I have artwork 95% finished

As an example, these stock art designs from @timinater are available, and other designers have made their art available as well. I’ll share others if I can find them, but I think Taj and Aria tributes at least could easily be ordered in this round.

Can someone explain the $25 customization requirements on Taj Mahal

Does that mean you need to add a location or something to distinguish them from other orders?

Thanks Jeff

First off, thank you for taking this initiative. Much appreciated.

My interest level at this moment = 9/10
# of chips intended: 900 (39mm)/100(43mm) = 1000 total.
Probability of me being guilty of asshattery: .5% (DISCLOSURE: this goes up to around 50% if @MrCatPants is involved and makes a joke about Mrs. Moxie's new haircut).

Too many sets, no cards molds for me. If anything I need to sell something.

And I would never make a joke about your wife! (However if she's interested in upgrading from a husband equivalent of cards mold to a husband THC equivalent...just saying I'm around.)

I believe it was just a typo. I think it is $25 “IF” customization is required. Otherwise it is just a $20 donation. Could be wrong but I believe that is the case.
