I contacted Mario on ETSY where we had contact before. I know he is active on there because he just updated something was back in stock. I let him know that he is being sought after here on the PCF.

What’s funny is I was at the Bellagio and they had a case with no corner guards and white handle an Base almost exactly like these

I could be mistaken, but I believe that another site vendor has made some heavy duty birdcages, locking and non-locking options available. I do not want to stink up a vendor's thread though so I will keep that info off this thread.

...but the HD birdcage is out there. Not with the Apex card holders, and not with the Apex tray pins, and not made in America... but made (may have been a limited quantity, not really sure)

Just saw APG had an Instagram update after being off since April. Maybe he’s back after all?...

Well to be fair the only pictures I saw in this thread were renderings (somebody correct me if I'm wrong)....I mean I can draw 3D pics of houses on software all day long but until I I can show you an actual 2x4 I doubt anyone will take me seriously. Dude had a great idea but it always seemed to me like he was looking for investors all along. He was also "all blow and no go"

BTW I'll take my chiding from the OP when he logs back in around the new year. And I'll bet 50 bucks itll be at least another year before this gets off the ground (if it ever does)

Not entirely true. Prototype pics in post #371.

He also had prototypes for his previous birdcage project (with LED lights).

I think he has more ideas than supporters need/want. I'd be willing to bet T_Chans sold early tables that were pretty basic before he began selling super-custom pieces of art.

I don’t have any experience with this kind of product manufacturing, but I’m wondering if one concern is matching the originally proposed pricing.

Given the cost, material, quality, and labor that goes into each one of these, including the hand made acrylic shell, I’m not sure how these can sell for under $150 each, let alone $100 each. And that might significantly disrupt market demand.

If the $50-$65 price point isn’t realistic, I can understand why he’d step back from this endeavor. Because the buyers just won’t be there anymore.

The main reason that I was so excited about this project was the acrylic shell with no side guards. I currently own 0 birdcages, I would have bought 4-5, even if the price was higher than initially estimated.

Eventually someone will make what I want.

They make 'em now -- you just can't buy them, or at least not easily.

Most gaming product distributors carry them, but they are typically expensive and only available to casino customers
