Apache sample set (1 Viewer)

Great choice! I would now advice you to take your set, be happy with it and leave this place behind, but…

…clearly you’re about to fall far down the rabbit hole ;).

lol They're pretty beat up. I'm only considering getting them because they're so beat up I can get them cheap. I would never pay full price. That's just too much real money for fake money as far as I'm concerned.

It is a slippery slope. Next thing you know that "one" first set has expanded to 1000+ chips, you have a full separate tournament set, and assorted racks/barrels for "future projects". Oh and the samples, singles, and dealer buttons keep coming  :ROFLMAO:

I thought the same about the price... spend enough time on PCF and one day something just changes and you have a rack of mint Paulsons lol

Oh I already have a 1000 chip tournament set of Monte Carlo's lol

But yeah the ONLY reason I'm considering the Majestic Star Paulsons for the 1/5's is because check it out.
They're super beat up but for $12 a barrel? Why not.

I agree! I just bought 800 majestic set from a fellow chipper on here and am looking forward to using them! I'm falling down the rabbit hole though, as I believe I am going to get plaques for the set too and am already looking at getting another set!

I did the same initially and grabbed a barrel of both. 100% worth while. If you do this, keep an eye on the classifieds and find another barrel of used but good conditioned $1's to compare. You should be able to find one for pretty cheap. These are pretty worn down and basically all bicycle tires. Or don't find any in better condition or mint and potentially save yourself a lot of money. I was curious and found a barrel of mint Jack secondaries and that opened the wormhole for me.

Regardless, the Majestics are fantastic chips and will probably see more play from me than any other set minus my royal tournament set. It's all about whatever chips you enjoy, and I have throughly enjoyed my Majestics as I am sure you will too. Enjoy the chips and the journey and don't feel like you have to rush into it!

Got my Majestic set finally about a week and a half after I ordered them and paid more for shipping than last time.
But I do think I may go with these for my cash game chips. Whether I get these exact chips or blanks that I put my own inlay on, regardless I do like these a bit more than the Dunes set.
I'm considering the 25c/50c/1/5 chips for my $20 buy-in cash games

I didn't buy the sample because they didn't have the 5c. Apache said the 5c is similar to the $1,000. anyway I purchased 5/25//100 and an aluminum case from discount poker. Majestic looks like Royal. When the restocks of Majestic and Bank are available, I'll use some of my social security check for them.

Apache doesn't have that denom in their sample set. I WILL purchase 5c when it becomes available.
Interesting, at least several months back I thought the 5c chip was in the sample set I received. They must really have zero stock of the 5c chip even for samples then. I may have a couple loose stock 5c chip if anyone is interested and wants to see one that I can dig up. I can confirm it is the $1000 chip with a different label though.

Yeah I was hoping to see the 5c from Apache but like you said it's not in the set and they say it's similar to the $1000.
I can confirm that because after meticulously comparing the $1000 that I have to the 5c on the website, they look virtually identical. There may be a slight variation in the main yellow color of the chip but I'm willing to bet that's just lighting from the photo.
If you look at their Majestic blanks, they only have one yellow chip which leads me to think they use that chip for both 5c and $1000.

I got into chipping early March. I have $1 casino chips from where I played 21. I did play at Sahara at a small buy-in tourney. So I feel justified to buy a few sets and even more sample sets. Only buy what appeals to you. I am buying anything that looks like a poker chip with a $figure or a deck of cards except yin-yang.
I'll buy 5/25/100 or 1/5/25/50/100. I will go hog barrel wild on the Majestic and Bank chips.

They should include both the 5c and $1000 for chippers that are completists and will buy down the line at least a barrel of each.

I can see why they thought it unnecessary to include both. Some of us want them in the sample set.
When they come back in stock, I'll get a barrel of each and call it a day.

Probably just boils down to keeping the sample sets even-numbered since there are 10 in the Majestic set. Putting in a 5c chip would not only be two identical chips in the set but it would make it 11 chips in the set.
I get their reasoning for excluding it, but I wish I had one.

Now I'll have to go through my sample chips to see if odd or even.

There are several odd sample sets. I hope I am not misunderstanding your post. If so, I apologize.

I needed an espresso.

I don't know, I'm speculating. There are currently 16 sample sets on their website and all but 3 of them have either 10 or 12 chips each.
and I bought the odd one's. Not that it mattered. I bought what caught my eye. I didn't buy the Majestic sample because I wanted that 5c. I might reconsider.

You are correct about the two chips (5c and $1000) being the same, that's the reason why they wouldn't include it in the sample set. Most people are looking to see how the colours look in their own gaming room, and also want to see how the chips feel/sound.

Also, highly unlikely that a set using a nickel, would also need a 1000 chip. So not much chance of ever having those two denominations in play at the same time. :)

Very logical indeed. I'll get a barrel of the $1,000 to stroke my OCD. I'll probably get 1/5/25/50/100 of the Bank chips. I already have 5/25/100 of Majestic for my non-existent micro-stakes game. After those purchases, I'm done accumulating.
