So I came across this Dal Negro mother of pearl set the other day and impulse bought it cause I've always liked the European acrylic style but I can't find any info on them. Anyone know the history of them?
Contemporary European casino chips have almost always used plastic as their base material of choice. Most likely for the sheer variety of colour options and added material compositions that allows designers to go wild. And there's something about playing with plaques that makes every table feel like a high roller table.
I don't know anything about the history, but I'll say I think it's a very handsome set. Euro-type jeton sets like this pop up on eBay from time to time, with a wide variety of styles and a huge price range. I'd say yours is one of the more attractive ones.
