I recently picked up the Oculus Quest 2, and the first game I downloaded was PokerStars VR. Let me tell you, that game is amazing and so much fun! I play it almost every day. You can win virtual rings for ranking #1 for the week, and they have NLH stakes from $25 - $50 up to $25K - $50K. I hope they add MTTs and mixed games sometime. Anyone else in here play?

I have the rift s but i have never bothered with VR poker. Having a look at the gameplay for it, gotta say it does look fun

There are two poker VR apps that are available on the Quest, I have the #1 unit and a Rift S, bought the rift after the Quest being so impressed with the Technology.

VR Poker and Gunclub VR are my favourite apps by far.

This tech is only still in its infancy but the potential is "HUGE". Such an improvement over the VR stations that were set up at Fairs and big events back in the 90's where block men could move in a block world.......

The 360 degree virtual videos are "something to experience" I've toured Taipei , Ski'ed the alps and swam with Sharks its so cool.......there are more options that also in the past were responsible for the adoption of VHS over Beta tapes back in the day.....wow lol.

I have been beta testing VR tech for years now and stopped bothering after the pile of rubbish playstation headset. From 2017 till just before xmas 2020 i never used VR and i got a rift s then. I have to say atleast for the pc its came a long way

I think im going to give it a go at the weekend :D i dont play for cash alot online tbh just practice with play money. Too many ways to cheat online and i dont trust anyone hahaha

I've played a decent amount. Most tables it doesn't seem as loose as you would think a free money game gets.

I used to play it daily. Took a break lately, but even though it's play money I have noticed it has improved my game.

It's a lot of fun though.
For the time being I find the group of players that play VR poker to be much more mature than any other free online poker game I have played. I have not used the Pokerstars app but the other VR poker app and its pretty good. I was never able to load the Pokerstars app when I tried it before, may have to give it another go.

Does anyone know when this will be available for play on the playstation? I saw the release date was Jan 28 but it's still not available on the playstation store.

I love playing private tournaments with my friends in VR. We pool the buy-in to an Apple Pay account, track placing and points in Google Sheets, then display it in our private AppSheet league. It really fun and easy to set up. I wonder if there will ever be a VR WSOP. That would be amazing.

WTF is VR?
I only play occasionally on P*Stars at very low stakes (5c/10c).
I have done so pretty succesfully without any armour (tracking software)

I love it, VR poker is fantastic. It's re-kindled my excitement to play again and now that we're pretty good COVID wise I'm eyeing off a new chipset and table to start hosting home games again after a 7ish year break.

Played again last night, even though i left the table with the biggest stack im finding more and more kids just going all in preflop every hand thinking its some sort of mad gamble. Little sh*ts  :ROFLMAO:  :ROFLMAO:

It looks really cool! (watched some vids on YouTube).

That being said, I would be so awkward playing games with a helmet on, like no one should see that   I'd be hiding like it was a very private activity...

Once the helmet is on you quickly forget all that is going on outside. VR as it stands today is light years ahead of that VR display you saw at the fair in the 90's..... It's shockingly immersive with potential for future generations of tech to truly blur reality.
Plus the poker app is "free" (with chip buys) but is easily manageable as a free app with daily Q8h chip top ups on a big wheel plus newly added games blackjack, roulette and even more expanding tournaments. I quite like the Q5min tourney structure as well (mind you i would like more options for time/starting stack amount. Good game

Do you get "VR sickness", or not so much since there isn't a lot of movement?

I played with my buddy's Occulus a while ago, and it was my first time on a personal set, so we were exploring, and I did start to get a bit whacked out after playing it for a good amount of time.

Got super sick playing games with movement. But felt completely fine after a 5 hour straight session in poker. It’s incredible how much closer to live play it is vs online poker.

My buddy calls it folding simulator  :ROFLMAO:

Looks like there may is enough interest to start a thread to organize games. Keep your eyes open for it later today!

What's the nuts for VR headsets now-a-days? I'll have to do some research. Watched a video on YouTube, it does look pretty cool! I prefer tournaments for the moment...hopefully those will be gaining more support on that platform.

I get quite VR sick. But any games with teleport or sitting games like Poker won’t make you sick at all.

I’ve had a lot of different systems. I love the quests. I have the Q1 and a couple Q2’s. They’re great because of portability and ability to link with a gaming computer.

This was last night. My Boy and his cousin were playing dead and buried.

I played Pokerstars VR quite a lot cause of lockdown haha. Then, restrictions were lifted and home games are back now and good lord am I happy I don't have to go back to that game. A few reasons why only playing with friends (or people you know) is the only viable option:
1. A lot of the players you come across know each other already, are on a discord call (which you can't hear), and are colluding. This honestly ruins the fun for me. Even though it's fake money or whatever, it ruins the spirit of the game.
2. The sit and gos are kinda dead at times. Even if you start a table, the wait could be quite long until 8 random players (the max) arrive.

All in all, it wasn't an entirely negative experience, holding the chips in VR can be quite cool, and you get to socialise with people around the world. But you would never see me play that game unless I can't play live

What a VR space! Is that room normally that empty?
