So I send out some chips to another PCF member two weeks ago..... they make it out of Boston, then POOF .....gone.
Try to contact USPS only to get the survey 4 days later asking how they did resolving my issue...really?

I order some chips from Apache ..... three weeks later no chips. Get the tracking number ...POOF ... USPS says it does not exist....wow So where is the package and why can't you track it?

I order some items from another place last week (non poker chip stuff) ... POOF ... box is wrecked, contents broken Try to get a resolution, only get a case number, no resolution

I understand they get lots of stuff to ship, but shouldn't they take a little better care, especially now that we can track it all. Other than junk mail, I am finding USPS completely useless now. Plus all these issues in the month of June...driving me crazy.

I haven't had any issues sending or receiving flat rate boxes. I have had outgoing first class padded envelopes get held up. In one case it showed up marked for insufficient postage after two weeks, in another it just showed up without explanation almost three weeks after sending.

It has me worried that so many of my dealer button packages are going to go out first class.

I live in Vancouver, and I ordered something called "Chair Saver" from California on April 10th. It went missing. 8 weeks later it showed up with a stamp on it "Mis-directed to Thailand" WTF?? Thailand is NO WHERE near Canada. USPS is messing up bad :(

I bought a set of four chips off eBay a couple months ago. After three weeks of no chips the seller refunded my money. A week later it finally showed up. A month to have four Chips shipped and everything was sent the day the auction ended. Seller and buyer in the US

Luckily the one package that went to Gear in Canada arrived ... it had samples of my chips to be relabeled....don't want to lose any of those :)

Annoys me that so many issues are happening, yet they are trying to win back customers. Even if the stuff got lost, I would be cool if they had customer service.....that really annoys me

Sounds like a rogue chipper works for the NH Post Office and is stealing packages...

Damn that sucks.

I just sent a few chip packages outta the Boston area without any problems last month. I'll consider myself lucky I guess.

I ordered something from an eBay seller in North Chicago. The last location was arrival at the St. Paul post office.....hmmmm.

Ha, nope, outgoing went to MI from northern MA, then into Boston .....left Boston never to be seen again. Incoming came from IL into Manchester ...... beat up somewhere inbetween. Then the incoming chips from Vegas to NH..... no record of them even existing. I LOVE USPS :D

I've had major issues this spring (work related packages)....sending Priority Mail envelopes & boxes and taking days and weeks to arrive at destination. One package (custom printing job) never arrived, so I had to repeat and send out again.
I'm actually waiting now on a 2-day Priority Package sent last Thursday from the Chip Room..... Almost a week later no package and no further tracking info on USPS website. I only live about 2-3 hours away, maybe I should have just driven there and picked them up!

Never had any issues with USPS, but I haven't sent or received any packages within the past month or so (what??? The hell you say!)

I DID have a UPS shipment containing several gallons of wood stain become "irretrievably damaged" somehow on its way from Memphis to Nashville. It was fun picturing what that must have entailed - I suspect that UPS must now own a truck with "woodgrain" interior finish.

Fortunately, everything I've shipped recently has arrived intact and on time. I use click-and-print labels and ask the clerk at the post office to scan them and to give me a receipt. I insured the more expensive shipments, and on the most expensive one I requested an adult signature. So far, so good. (Virtual knock wood)

Oh man ........ got a chip off eBay and USPS decided to deliver it to another town. It's now getting rerouted back to the hub and headed my way. Glad tracking exists now since I can see all the screwups.

And on a side note, the missing chips that left Boston 3 weeks ago never to return have been located. The Michigan post office called me last Thur to say the package got damaged and the chips are returning back to me in NH. However when I went to pick them up (as the MI post office said to do), they had no idea what it was or where the package was. They are tracking it down to get back to me. I see a Lifetime movie here...... The Woes of Chips : Beyond the Casino

i ordered some chips off of eBay a whole back... sender had to split the shipment into two packages... one got here in three or four days... the other took over a month!!

the entire time, USPS's tracking system indicated that it left arizona at the same time as the other package... must've been misplaced along the way because it didn't get scanned in anywhere else

I had something like that happen. The zip code was incorrect. Someone crossed it out and fixed it. The only problem is that the current bar code/tracking number still had the incorrect zip attached to it. It took 3 weeks for someone to realize what was going on when it went back and forth to the same place about 5 times. They scribbled out the old bar code and put a new one on it.

the rerouted arrived..... of course the address was correct and easily read. Another package came on time. Down to 5 left floating around in the USPS world with a 6th shipping shortly. Maybe I should stop buying chips? ;)

Sigh. After reading some of these other stories in this thread about USPS mixups, but seeing that shipments eventually got to the right destination, I feel a little better about a USPS Small Flat Rate Box package I just sent to @sheets11. The package was sent from Washington DC and should have been delivered to Houston, Texas on 9/21 but USPS tracking shows it's currently in Los Angeles, CA!

This is what sheets11 saw yesterday, which worried both him and me:
9/19 5:14 pm - Departed Washington DC ...
9/20 6:56 am - Departed USPS Facility Capitol Heights, MD (just outside of DC, assume it's a hub)
9/21 4:24 am - Arrived at USPS Facility, Los Angeles, CA 90053
9/21 4:26 am - Departed USPS Facility, Los Angeles, CA 90053... Item currently in transit to the destination.
I didn't think the USPS would send packages from the east coast to Texas through California. I double checked my copy of the Click & Ship Label Record, and it shows the correct zip and address for Houston, TX.

Update today -- the tracking now shows: Departed USPS Facility in Los Angeles at 9:15 pm timestamp on 9/21 instead of 4:26 am. I'm hoping this is good news and that it's on it's way to Texas.

I've shipped a bunch of flat rate boxes locally and internationally in the last 6 months and I haven't had any problems. Most of the packages I've shipped stateside all arrived within two days of shipping.

I just sent one out yesterday to @Ellasdaddy Hopefully I didn't just jinx it.

Did once have a package go missing for a month... finally showed up tho...

Only other USPS issue I have is my carrier is lazy AF... they rarely attempt an actual delivery (I'm on the 3rd floor)... they'd sooner stick a "delivery attempt" card in my mail box... this has happened DOZENS of times when I was home...

So awesome to have to drive to the post office and wait in line because my carrier is a lazy bastard

I sent a shit ton of chips laast summer. I also received half of a shit ton. No issues and not even one broken chip. I'm on a wave of good chip karma baby.

I receive a lot of stuff with no problem, I had one package lost this year which sucked... but eBay resolved it.

I think it has a lot to do with what location and which mail facilities they pass through. Some are better than others. Apparently the Mid-South is not one of the better ones.

We have constant issues with packages being diverted/sorted incorrectly and taking long scenic paths to our location. I swear it's like watching Billy from the Family Circus cartoon when tracking the shipments. It should very simple considering most labeling has barcoded addressing in 2016.

And almost 33% of the packages I receive now days look like they have been used to play soccer in the warehouse with. I really don't know what USPS employees are doing but "handling my packages with care" is not one of them.

This is an (extreme) example of a package that was received a while back. They don't all look this bad but the packages that have damage, have extreme damage.

For some reason it bounced around Memphis for a couple of days (mail coming from the west coast to here doesn't normally pass through the Memphis mail facility). Then finally it arrived in the following condition. Thankfully the seller took extra care to pack the items inside correctly so amazingly all items were in good shape, no damage (the box, not so much).

Don't worry though, nothing to be scared about, your packages will be fine. :sneaky:
