Planning a trip to CA sometime end of year and going to hit up Commerce Casino. Wanted to know how it was for anyone that went

Have personally only ever been there twice. Lot of different tables, so you should be able to find any game you're into.

The rake structure is a bit steep though, for the 2-3 and 2-5 nl tables. Not really sure what the specific numbers are, but it was enough as to where even if you were winning you didn't really feel as if you were winning.

The nl tables also had capped buy ins. For the 2-3 you could only buy in for $100, and for the 2-5 you could only buy in for $200.

$100 and $200 max buy in? That's odd lol. So it's pretty much a pre flop shove fest

Pretty much lol, you have to be ready to commit your entire stack if you want to see out a hand in the beginning. People were reloading left and right. That being said because of the cap, people seemed to be playing a lot less loosely.

People around the table were telling me that they actually preferred this structure, because initially it prevents less "bullying" from the bigger stacks and everyone starts from the same place. I don't know seems they were trying to make it have more of a tournament feel.

They do have a lot of different levels for limit tables though. And they have high roller tables where I assume they don't have a cap on the buy in, but couldn't tell you what the blinds are for those tables as they're in a separate room.
