Another Sun-Fly Hybrid design (1 Viewer)

FWIW I think the white background looks better, second best would be the color matched background.

Will you be able to do a group buy first or will these probably be direct to website?

@p5woody The word "cent" on the right side of the 1c chip is misspelled.

Love having the outer ring on the cash chips now, and those black labels are badass! (y)

I'm considering a non-denominated limit set. Assuming that a semi-custom order can be placed along with these, I've few questions (apologies...I'm about to be "that guy")

- Is there any chance of getting a blue 39mm chip with bright orange stars/highlights (just replacing the current grey with bright orange)?
- On the non-denominated chip, maybe replace "Unknown Value" with "All Star Poker"?
- Is it possible to get white non-denom labels on chips other than the brown/pink chip?
- Can the rolling edges be replaced a pattern of one star and bar, repeating three times? e.g, * | ||||||| | * | |||||| | * | |||||| |

Even if the answer to all these is some version of "fuck off, Psypher", I'm still considering getting a set.

I will look at everything you posted along with everybody's comments and come up with a new version. If you want a custom set I am sure we can make that happen.:)

Not a label -- those chips are full-face printed.

Sun-Fly's Polyclay chips have 'engraved' mold markings -- either diamonds or cards -- along with a circular ring. The center is not recessed, and cannot take a label.

The hybrid chips are Sun-Fly's Polyinno line.

My goal is to work out a GB price and have them added to the website, but too early to tell. If these don't make it to the Sun-Fly website and somebody is interested in doing a GB we might do that.

Another round of mockups!
At this point I am thinking white labels for tournament and black for cash but I am also including a color match cash option. A couple chips are different between Cash and Tournament, for example the 500 chips. For color matching, I am waiting on my custom set to see how close the colors match between the ceramic chip color and the printed labels. They might be different enough I don't have to do any type of adjustments.

Damn, I love how these are shaping up! Not typically a fan of brown chips, but I do like that brown/pink combo for the $2.

I feel like the color matched designs might be better suited for a standard blank rather than a hybrid. Would need to see a sample to be sure, but in mock form, that's what I'm seeing.

For the snapper, maybe "Two Dollars Fifty Cents" instead?

For my limit lineup, I like the following...

If using hybrids for ~any~ of the chips, the label artwork should not include the inner color ring -- that inner ring should be printed on the ceramic portion to fully match the outer ring and star color. This approach also allows for larger artwork on the label.

For the color-matched cash chips, it also puts a color-buffer between the label background color and the base chip color (making it less important or noticeable for an exact color match).

I made a couple of small tweaks and did a 3d-mockup to see what they would look like.

I also started working on a another set, looking more like a clay chip. Inlay is a place holder for now, but I like it. Both 39 and 43 mm versions, still need to create the rolling edge for these.

I am not a fan of the green secondary color on the orange primary chip. I'd like to see if you could mock it with white stars instead?

Also, would you consider having the value printed on the sides of the chip?

I have gone back and forth on the orange chip, by itself I like different colors but the green seems to go the best with the set. I was thinking white but for the tournament set the 25 and 25,000 have white stars. For the cash set the $1 has white stars. I tried other colors as well and ran into the same issue.

When you say sides, you mean rolling edge? Assuming rolling edge, yea I could add denominations. What do people think, would 4 denominations/4 stars be better then the 8 stars. Without the denominations on the rolling edge, chips could be used for any value. Also most chips are shared among the cash and tournament sets.

Hmm, I see some influence in those Mountain Tops!

They look really good! These are going to be stock at Sunfly?

That is the goal, but not 100% sure at this point. Still trying to work on the specifics with Sun-Fly.

Latest mockups look great, Steve. The Mountain Top lineups are particularly impressive, and even have great mix-and-match capability for those who want to pick out alternate colors and patterns for a more personalized set.

As you noted, printing denominations on the rolling edge really puts a damper on the flexibility of the sets, which is a poor design choice for chips that could otherwise use any denom label, including a custom one. I'd strongly advise against it.

(And fwiw, the same principle applies to color-matched labels, because they cannot simply be selected and switched for use on other color base chips without artwork changes).

I made a couple of changes for the tournament set. Here is the tournament set with a few changes - less stars, removed the 10k, added a white 1m and changed the chocolate to no value.

I'm liking this round of the tourney chips a lot better than your originals. The change on the spot colors on the 100 to lt blue is a lot better than the red, IMHO.

Oh... forgot to mention that I'm thinking of replacing my Nexgens tourney set with something nicer. Woody, if these chips existed I'd pull the trigger easily.

However, if I could change any one thing, I'd switch the colors between the your tourney 10k and 25k. I won't use a 10k chip but brown on a potential 25k is a better contrast for those like me who would use a 25, 100, 500, 1000, 5000, and 25000.

Here is the mountain top (clay-ish) set for the Sun-Fly hybrid

Seems like a Mountain Top chip should have an 8V spot pattern in there somewhere. (or heck... all 8V for the tourneys) :)

Updated the Mountain Top Casino cash chips, added a $5000. Even though this was designed as a cash set, it could also be used as a tournament set. (Cash 5¢ - $20, Tournament $25 - $5000) Since I added a 5000, I changed the 500 a little bit to keep the spot progression going.

What do people think switch the 10K and 25K?

I'm missing that previously used spot pattern on the $20 chip -- allowed it to be used with the higher denominations as a relabeled T1000, T5000, or T25K if desired. Now it's a duplicate pattern of the $25. Was also considering adding one of the chips from the tourney set for an extra denom and unique pattern. Speaking of which.....

Pink is a common T5000 color, and blue is a common T25K color. Just sayin', I have no strong preference. Sorta like the off-beat color choices in both sets, actually. (y) Just miss the last $20 spot pattern.

The $20 and $25 have always been a duplicate spot pattern, since they won't be used together. The only chip I changed was the $500 chip.

FYI - I choose to use the blue 5000 because I love that chip and wanted to see it in play more.
