Doing the introduction thing, to help distinguish me from a bot/scammer/etc. Located in Central Oregon (I see at least one other member from here).

Have always loved casinos, gaming, and the atmosphere. Been going to Reno since the early 80's, have experienced the highs and lows and the never-ending changes. Miss the days of all the 'quaint' casinos lining the strip (all those old smaller casinos are now pawn/souvenir shops or liquor stores, or boarded up). Have collected casino stuff here and there over the years, am a current member of a slot forum and have had machines over the years.

Reason why I'm here? Always been fascinated with old-school Reno. And even though it was a dive at the end, have a fondness for the Mapes. Was always fascinated by it, not sure why. Have a handful of Mapes memorabilia/chips, and am looking to expand my (very small) collection of chips here and there, maybe even pick up a dealer button. Not a big poker player, but do play in tournaments in Reno when I'm there for fun. Thanks!

Glad you found your way here. And there are lots of Mapes enthusiasts here.
Everyone would like to see what you do have for memorabilia and especially the chips.

Central Oregon is apart of my unified territory with @Saoliver . Taxes are on every 15th. Trash is on Fridays. Annual hot dog eating contest and pillowfight is in August.

See ya then.

Thank you. Most all of my memorabilia is packed away, here's a pic of a few (very, very few) items I have 'lying around' at the moment - keep in my desk next to my computer. Not sure why I haven't packed away the Fitz stuff yet. I just recently started getting more into chips, so nothing like full stacks or even a rack of anything.

Packed away I've got silver $10 gaming tokens from various casinos, promo memorabilia, decks of played/cancelled cards, various slot tokens, a few Y2K commemorative gaming chips, several stacks of coin buckets (...from back when the slot machines were all coin, before TITO and bill validators...), some branded glasses (back when your drinks were served in glasses with the casino's name/logo). Lol, pretty much a large assortment of 'junk', as the ex made off with some of the better stuff some years back

Don't forget the soirees!
Yes. We have our Yearly conference in Boise at the end of March, were we elect officers and have our airing of greivences.....

And whiskey.... Alot of whiskey.

....a few more Mapes chips that were in another drawer...

Again, nothing special or excessively noteworthy
