It took only some weeks and the chip madness got me back after a 10 year break ... I recently bought 900 chips in the Sunfly Prestige GB (looking very forward to this set), but after recently watching a dozen films from my favorite movie franchise (James Bond) during pandemic, the thought of another Jame Bond inspired set came to life.

Another? Yes, I had two James Bond inspired sets in the past (relabeled ASM's/Paulson Solid and a custom ASM set), which really turned out nice - ok these were designed by pros. I just got into Illustrator and want to design this artwork by myself (as there is no rush or whatsoever, there is plenty of time to develop some Illustrator skills)

As the previous two sets were from the Roger Moore era (TSWLM: Club Mujaba and Octopussy: Monsson Palace), this set will be based on a Sean Connery movie (one of my favorites): Thunderball

The die hard Bond fans will recognize the elements I guess (Palmyra, the diver, the shark ... or does it look like a dolphin right now?) ... this is only a first sketch and is FAR from looking great design wise (but as mentioned, just learning Illustrator).

Also not sure which chips would be suitable if this set ever becomes reality (maybe 43mm Royals) or depending on the time that goes by (and bankroll that is growing in that period of time) maybe even a mixed Paulson set :p:D

I much rather the first two you mocked up, personally. I liked the design elements overlapping etc.
Second that ... the font looks much better in the first version (the second one really looks boring)

Maybe I will go with a different background element for each chip value (shark, diver, ...) which has a link to the movie!

Played around with some more ideas (also bringing the "Dico Volante" and another shark in) ... upper circle text will have to go to give more space to the design elements.

The yacht graphic will be to detailed for printing I am afraid

Added a different background to each chip (yes I know, 4 sharks and one diver, but the diver looks pretty cool) ... bases and mold are just placeholders.

In this case it looks nice as the background element matches the base color ... but if it will not be a CPC set color matching would be even harder

The only thing is that with such bright sharks, it might be hard to read "Palmyra" (especially the yellow one). And potentially the red color on black could be too dark (but not sure).

Yes, this might be an issue ... the set won't be on solid anyway (if ever been put to life) ... I think maybe a gray background option like in the first mockup would be wiser (or a color that is more contrast to the Palmyra font)

Diver needs a speargun though

I really like your idea. I too like the first Palmyra type face. I like it superimposed directly on the boat/shark/diver/etc. I like the "Palmyra", "Resort & Casino", and "Nassau, Bahamas" in a light color that is not a base color of one of the chips in the set. I also like the denomination in a color different from the other text and different than the art. I like the boat/shark/diver/etc in the main color of the chip.
