I host a monthly tournament and use Brybelly Ultimate chips however I am looking to upgrade to some nicer chips for my cash games, as I am not a big fan of the stickers on the chips.

Info for suggestions:
Stakes: Currently $0.50/$1 so it would be nice if the chips I buy have a $0.50 denomination, however this is not a necessity as I can move the stakes to $1/$1 if it means getting a nicer set.
Players: 10, with a Min buyin $40, Max $100. I have been using 150 $0.50, 300 $1, and 200 $5 and this has worked fine. If I were not to get $0.50 chips then I would need more $1 chips.
Price range: I would like to stay under $300 for the chips and shipping together.
Chip type preference: Honestly I have played at many casinos and can't tell much difference between the chips, as I cant really shuffle them or do any tricks or anything. However I would like chips that have a nice weight to them and shuffle nice for my friends/players who can shuffle them.

Hopefully this is enough information and it is not a pipe dream to get some good chips at that price. Thank you all!

Step 1 - Get some samples

From what I've observed, the best way to get 650 chips for $300 is some Ceramics, or China clays. A lot of people here will tell you to hold off, up your budget and go for some casino used Paulsons but that's up to you.

Grab some samples of Niles, Majestics, Milanos, Royals if you were really trying to stay with that 50c denom they have those.

I think one cool set would be to get 50c majestic, and $1's, $5's, $25's (at least a few) Royals.

If you wait around here, you should find some of these types of chips used at 30c per chip.

Anything too much nicer is getting closer to $1 per chip.

But that's just my opinion, I'm kind of a noob.

Well anytime you can skip a denomination, it'll help cut the set cost down.

1/1 can play like .50/1. So with your budget, you could just skip the fracs and go $1, $5, $25.
I'm not sure how many rebuys you have in a current night, but if you did
200 x $1s
300 x $5s
100 x $25s

that would be enough bank for each of your 10 players to have
20 x $1s = $20
30 x $5s = $150
10 x $25s = $250

So $420/person.

If you wanted more upper end bank, you could do 80 x $25s and 20 x $100s instead.

That would be a nice number of 600 chips. Now for the price range of $300, you're going to have to go either CC or ceramics because that's only 50c/chip.
If you want real casino chip feel, I would steer away from CC, but lots of casinos do in fact have ceramics.
@ABC Gifts and Awards sell a few ceramic lines that I think are nice: Nevada Jack Skulls, Tiki Kings, Muertos, etc.

But you should definitely buy a bunch of samples and decide what you like, you might be surprised. You could even let your players test out the chips at a game and vote on their favorite.

Casino clay chips are going to be out of this budget.

The 43mm Royals are very nice, easily the best of the china clays. You could get a great breakdown for $300.

But custom or semi-custom ceramics are a great value. Definitely get samples.

Step 1 - Get some samples

Good advice !

Grab some samples of Niles, Majestics, Milanos, Royals if you were really trying to stay with that 50c denom they have those.

Honestly I would not use Nile to judge if I like ceramics or not.

Better get samples from @ABC Gifts and Awards and get samples of Nevada Jacks Skulls, Nevada Jacks Saloon, Tiki Kings, Desert Sands, ...

Personally I would go for ceramics for durability reasons. There are many threads of China Clay showing abnormal wear after a couple of years.

For the breakdon, I’d go with :
200 x $1
200 x $5
100 x $25

Total bank = $3700 = 3,7 full buyin per player

Or 200x1 / 200x5 / 80x25 / 20x100 if there is a need for a bigger bank.
