With a little bit of sleuthing and a little bit of luck, I came across these cards linked below:

http://matsuieurope.com/product-category/playing-cards/

It appears that these cards are poker size, jumbo index plastic playing cards on Angel Japan PVC stock, quite similar to the recent Angel group buy ran by @Geremie not too long ago. I am working on getting more detailed photos of the card stock and faces, but the above link is what I am going on for now. I will add the photos to the OP once I have them. These are the same cards that Matsui sells to casinos that can be custom made, but these cards with the standard/generic design linked above are indeed available for sale to the public.

Now, as far as what I do know and was able to get from the Matsui sales team, the cost per deck would be $4.45 USD not including shipping. The cards come in the five colors linked above; red, blue, green, orange, and brown. The minimum order quantity for each color is 12 decks, as they will sell by the 12 deck brick only. Shipping from the UK to US would add approximately $1 per deck to the cost, plus domestic shipping once the cards are stateside. So, figure about $5.50 per deck plus combined reshipping within the US in a padded mailer or FRB depending on order size.

I understand everyone would like to wait to see some more photos of the products before committing, but I just wanted to put this out there to get a better idea of what the interest level may be and the appetite for yet another playing card group buy in as many months. The chance to get some Angel cards is not one that I would pass up though, especially at this price.

I do plan on arranging for separate buys for our Canadian and European contingents here that will handle reshipping, distribution, and collecting of funds when it's time to place the order. This thread is for interest among the US contingent with a US mailing address only! Separate threads for the other contingents are coming!

Best,

Joe

Interested. First color choices being green and orange.

Are there reviews of these cards in any of the card review threads here on PCF? If so, might be helpful to link to them.

10 decks, 2 of each color or whatever is best to fill the order. Much like these cards, I'm very flexible.
Thanks for running this!

Interested, don't wanna commit till I can see the colors. Are they single decks or setups? Like if I wanted blue and red I'd have to order a blue deck and a red deck?

Correct. It seems to be by the deck. My last email that I'm waiting on a follow up on included the question of how the cards are going to be packed. Since they're made for casino use, I'd imagine they'd be in cellophane wrap or tuckboxes, but I'll know for sure before the order thread goes up.

For a two deck set up, your estimated cost would be $5.50 x 2=$11 plus domestic shipping.

@JMC9389 Since these have to be purchased in multiples of 12, we probably need a tracking schedule put together to massage the numbers and make it work. I just remembered I'm giving chip sets to some of my kids for Christmas. So I need a bunch of cards.

Orange x 4
Green x 2
Brown x 2
Blue x 2
Red x 3

13 decks total. I can be a little flexible on some of the colors if we get to the end and need to increase of reduce certain colors. But I gotta have the 4 orange and at least 2 green.

Is this going to be a pretty quick GB, or long and drawn out? Thanks!

Good question. I was planning on leaving this open for about a week or two to gauge interest and get the folks that don't check in here every day. I'll likely open the order thread at the end of the month and leave that open for two weeks. Send payment in the middle of October and hopefully have the cards by November.

For everyone putting in their orders here, I'll carry it over to the order thread and will confirm orders from here before I request payments. I'll deal with domestic re-shipping later once the cards are in.

Sounds good. Cards by November, or even mid December works for me. Really glad this came up. I've got cards checked off my list now! :D
