Hello, all. I'm new here and I've seen the invitation to make a post here at the top of every page for days now so I figured "Why not?".

I started my chip obsession with junk ABS, quickly went to Milanos (one of my favorite chips to be honest), and I am now at the top of the line with Classic Poker Chips and Paulsons. I have a few sets of CPCs and just ordered my first barrel of Paulsons from @Apache. I'm rather terrified at how addicting this is and how I've accumulated well over 1,000 chips in such a short period of time. :p Looking through some of the pron threads I see there won't be much money for anything in my future BESIDES POKER CHIPS.

Anyways, I'm Wade and I just wanted to introduce myself. Let me know when the Chipaholics Anonymous meetings start up! :ROFLMAO:

Welcome! Do you have any photos of your CPC sets?
Pictures?

Welcome and happy to have you here!
I'm new to this so when you ask for pictures are you wanting pictures of individual chips or like all of the chips just stacked up? I took a few of my favorites to post on another post but I'm not sure that's what you're looking for after looking through all these pictures of MEGA stacks. When I get back to the house I'll stack them up and take some pics. For $560 (from the factory) for 300 and 4 different denominations they are about the best new chips I've come across.

Welcome and good luck keeping it under control.
Love that set of Scrolls you have in your profile pic. I thought I was a clay only guy until I ordered 50 of the Scrolls off Amazon. I love them. Now I need a set of Scrolls and Nevada Jack's.

Welcome aboard, Wade!

Loved the photos of the Atlantic Club chips. This hobby is super addictive, and expensive. So it's a deadly combination for lower class blue collar guys like myself. Money is tight and I have to work extra shifts to earn the chips I buy. It's been a good formula. I dont have the nice stuff like some, but I've managed to score some great Paulsons and CPCs in my time here..

I think you have got a great start in this hobby man. My first set was also CPC. My first Paulsons were Classics and Pharaoh's.

You are definitely at the top of the line if you've got Paulsons, and CPCs. But hold on, take a bigger gander around and you'll find a couple other nice chip lines that deserve honorable mention, like BCC and TRK!

Hold on to your wallet and try to establish some goals for whatever games you run and build concise sets. Then you can establish a proper budget..

Mostly, just have fun and prepare to be met by helpful, insightful, and friendly people here. This site is truly great!

Welcome! When I first joined I was eyeing the Atlantic CPCs for a while, but ultimately decided to hold off. Still a huge fan and would love to see your set(s).

The scrolls are the first set I bought as I'm much more of a craps player than poker and in craps you need a lot more chips than you'd need for poker(8 craps players need about 1k chips for example) and a very different chip breakdown.

Nevada Jack's were 'too busy' for me, but I really like Tiki Kings.

Welcome Wade! Are you married? If so I highly suggest you get your spouse into it too. Chipping is far more than twice as fun when done together! If you’re not married, I apologize but it’s my duty to inform you that you may never be given that you’ll soon be calculating the cost of dates in terms of the number of barrels of x you could purchase instead!

Welcome! You already fit in very well!
Everything else quickly becomes second to chipping! The more the merrier right? :ROFLMAO:
Didnt see any pics of the sets yet!!

Yes, I've quickly realized saving money is the only way to get sets, which is really hard for me because I am one very impatient person when it comes to chips. Others I purchase 50 or so at a time and with Paulsons I'm going the 20 at a time route unless I find a really good deal that is affordable. I've already found a rack of solid color THC 100s for $160 that I'm dying to hit the "buy now" button on.

As for CPCs, I think they are the nicest chips around. They feel and look great. The colors pop and are vivid. I really want to make my own set but that is going to take awhile. I can't stop buying other chips long enough to save for my own custom set of CPCs. :ROFLMAO:

And a lot of people here would probably frown at this but I really enjoy Milano China clays too. There's just something about them. They are a good looking and feeling chip that I don't feel like I'm gonna have a stroke every time someone touches them. Haha!

Thanks for the advice and for the welcome!

I am, but I can't get her interested. She likes the Milanos better than the CPCs and doesn't understand why I think she's crazy. :D Maybe one day I'll convince her.

Haha! I figured. I was almost embarrassed to post the few pictures I have on my phone after looking through hundreds where they have all Paulsons covering an entire poker table. When I get home I'll have to oil them up and take some good pictures.

Haha! My wife was ordering me some new shirts and I made her stop because the $100 could buy a few barrels of Paulsons. She rolled her eyes and said I have a problem. :sneaky: I'll take some pics of the whole sets when I get back home Thursday.

For me, a picture with a hundred chips are as good as one with ten thousand.

Welcome Wade. The advice I tell people new is to stick to what truly speaks to you in this hobby. If you know what you like, buy it, chase it, build and put a set together.
Most of what I have has taken me years to acquire. Stay focused on what it is your looking for and eventually you’ll put something together that your truly proud of and will usually hold or increase in value.
Be patient, It’s easy to get distracted by this, that or the other in the world of chipping. My opinion is it’s about quality not quantity when your on a budget. Build yourself a nice set or two in the beginning and I believe you’ll be much happier for it later.
Best to you going forward.
