Advice on Veneer for edge (1 Viewer)

Need advice on veneering edge of table. Got 2" all the way around.
How smooth does it need to be?
Will the 2" wide iron on tape work?

Never done before and seeking advice.

First time applying, was easier than I thought it would be

Love the table but remove one stand per leg/pedestal and replace it with a stretcher.... the stands look waaaaay to close to each other.

Usually the pedestal legs are oriented with one of the feet from each leg pointing toward each other in one line.

Considered a stretcher but main concern was finding the material that would stain to match the legs. The legs are Malaysian Oak and veneer on edge is white oak. going to do the staining this weekend and see how well the stain matches between the two. I attached the legs so it would be easy to change and put the stretcher in. This one is not a keeper, this is my 3rd build. Learn more every time I build one.

Woodcraft or online will have 2". Needs t p.o be square and smooth enough to stick.

Took advice and spread legs apart more.
