Hi. I’m new to PCF. So far I’m glad that I found such a resourceful forum in terms of poker. I just started playing and wanted to get my own poker chips to play cash games hosted at home

I was thinking of a $25 buy in and rebuy in capped at 25$
Maximum of 8 friends playing
Usually each player will rebuy in 3 times
And from what I read is .25/.25 blinds recommended?

I am not sure how many chips and what denomination to get?

And also whatever chips and denominations recommended for .25/.25 game
Can it be also used for .10/.20 blind game?

Took me a while but PCF convinced me to use .25/.25 blinds and it is awesome. So easy and very convenient for chip breakdowns as well.

I use this:

.25 200x
$1 200x
$5 200x
$20 100

This should be more than enough and if necessary add a few hundos for when things get crazy. Most games only actually get about 20-40 $5 chips in play.

$25 with .25/.25 blinds is 100BB effective—less, really, since your small blind is oversized.

That’s not necessarily a problem, just something to be aware of. 100 big blinds isn’t much for a cash game. It’s going to change how people play, at least until there are enough rebuys to get people 200BB deep. More hands will get all-in on the flop and turn, fewer will go to the river. And someone rebuying for the $25 limit is going to have to play a fair amount of BINGO/take a lot of 50/50 flips to catch up. (Maybe change that to a max rebuy for half the largest stack?)

So, if you’re limiting it to $25 buy-ins, I might go for 10/20 instead. Or bump it up to $40 for 25¢/25¢ to get a little deeper.

My heretical view is that, for that kind of money (buy-ins), the best choice are either 1/1 or 1/2 or 1/3 dime games, and chip denominations of 1-5-20(25?)-100 representing dimes.:)

Personally I would do it as $.05/.10 game and cap buy ins at $20. But I prefer to play small blinds deep stacks. If your blinds are too high relative to buy ins than players will likely be all in a lot and your rebuys will go up. If your players are willing to lose 3 to 4 buy-ins that is great. If they are only willing to lose one or two than your game may end early or be difficult to sustain. Every player pool is different, but I try to have the average maximum loss players will handle be 3 buy Ins. So if your players will be okay losing $300 then play $100 max .25/.50. If your players are okay losing $60 then play $20 max .05/.10. If your players are okay losing $1000, please send me their info so I can invite them To my online game  :ROFLMAO:

The following chips would work for a .05/.10 game at $20 max

100 * $.05
200 * $.25
200 * $1
100 * $5

In my cash games, the max buyin is also 100BB. Players are free to buyin for 50BB if they prefer.

So for a $25 max buyin, 0.25 - 0.25 blinds are perfect for the game deepness I use to host.

For 8 players, I'd go with the following breakdown :
100 x 0.25
180 x 1
120 x 5

This makes 3 buyin per player.

8 first buyin : 12 x 0.25 / 17 x 1 / 1 x 5
8 next buyin : 5 x 1 / 4 x 5
8 last buyin : 5 x 5

If you want to cover more buyin, just buy 10 or 20 x $25 and you shall be good.

As explained above, important thing for you will be to assess the right deepness of your game. Mine is 100BB, for others, 200BB work best. That's something only you can answer for your own game.

I'm with Highli99 on this. A $25 buy-in with a $.25 BB is not enough blinds to play NL, INHO. I see games for $20 buy-in and $.25/.50 and I just don't even bother. I've only played one cash game in recent years.

I'd go with $.05/.10 for a $25 buy-in. That's not really a deep stack for NL -- only 250 BB. For NL, I was taught at least 300BB minimum, and should be 400-500BB.

A respectable opinion, but that can't be the norm.
Most online poker sites allow a max buy-in of 100BBs anyway, for NL.
And, the deeper the stacks, the higher the skill required (so, NOT suitable for beginners).
I 'd do a standard $20 buy-in for an 1/2 dime game (eventual max at half the big stack) or, for an 1/3 dime game I 'd offer a buy-in range from $20 to $40 (66.6 BBs, or the Devil's buy-in:LOL: , to 133BBs).

I play cash game with a $25 max buy in with .25/.25 blinds. The group I play seem to like it. I would prefer a $50 max but that scared a few cats away...so if y’all like $25 with .25/.25 blinds...who cares lol. Just play and have fun.
