Randomly came across a video on IG the other day. Some guys playing a game called Ace Race. Any idea on how to play this game and the rules of how many cards to open from the deck prior to opening a “reverse” card from the cards face down on the table? This seems like an awesome one to introduce to a home game either to be played before or after.

Seems like you open the reverse card if the slowest ace or last card hit/pass the line of the reverse card..

Haha we played this as a drinking game in high school. We called it horse races. Fun game.

Clubs = Puppy Paws
Spades = Grave Diggers
Diamonds = Dezzy Diamonds
And I don’t remember what we called hearts.

Before the race everyone would bet how many seconds they would chug from a beer if they lost or how many seconds you could pass out if you win haha!

Whenever the last Ace, aka “Horse”, catches up to the row of cards on the side you flip it and that suit goes backwards.

Didn’t even spot that, thanks. I kept thinking that it had something to do with opening a certain number from the deck, then a reverse card.

The cards on the side is any random amount you want to make for the length of the race. Never did more than 10.

The content creator actually has a bunch of funny videos on twitter too. That’s where I saw it today.

Can be used for the change pot at the end of the night. If there’s more than four players involved, just have two legs or divisions and then combine the finalists from each in a heads up 3rd race.

that is a cool idea...

The nice dynamics of the game seems like: if you are ahead you have less chance to ahead further since more cards of your suits are out...BUT also less chance to reverse for the same reason...

Exactly this. I noticed that when watching diamond Ace move up quick. Faltered afterwards due to most of the diamonds coming up. Fun game.
