Absolute cheapest option for reasonably secure chips (1 Viewer)

Just curious if you remember what WA casino uses them, I've never seen them but almost want to go play with them just to feel a little durty durty.
I don't remember but it would be a closed casino as they were in the warehouse at the Chiproom on one of my visits. They were $3 dollar chips.

Not to mention the amount of credibility that quality products can bring a place.

We have to keep in mind the fact that not everyone has the same idea of quality. I've been in a cardroom with what I'm pretty sure were Bud Jones v7s for the workhorse chips (and maybe Paulson for the higher denoms? I didn't have any in my stacks, and didn't get a good look at them), and a guy a few seats away from me had a magnetic card guard, one fractional chip (no idea how he wound up with that), and assorted denominations up to $1k from some sort of jackpot earlier in the night. The fractional chip was some low end slugged hotstamp chip that the magnet stuck to, and the guy couldn't believe that even their $1k chips weren't made of metal, when they clearly went higher quality on the fractional chip. To each their own, but I'd love to trade that guy some high quality slugged dice chips for some cheap non-ferrous Paulson/Bud Jones/TRK/BCC/ASM/CPC/B&G/Matsui/Ceramic chips ;)

I don't know what state this is in but there might also be regulations concerning gaming equipment that should be adhered to as well.

I get the impression that, if such regulations exist, this club doesn't give two shits about them (I may well have the wrong impression)...

Missed this earlier. The place is in Jersey, but it's...how should I say...unregulated. The best I could say for them is that at least in my experience they follow Bob's pronouncement that "to live outside the law you must be honest".

Also, it's not as if there's any competition. This place serves players mostly within a 20 mile radius. And the players themselves - apart from me - could honestly not care less if we played with the shit chips pictured or Tropicana first editions. My best argument to the owners at this point is that the chips are literally disintegrating, which they are!

Take in 200-300 red $5 in racks and before you sit down tell them you have plenty more in the trunck if you busto.
You dont want to be accused of really cheating but they should get the point. That would make me pucker up pretty bad if i were them.
Game on or owps is the only way to go. You might get cheaper with sluggo or CC with lables but not much cheaper. Spend a little more and secure you game people.

I thought about posting something along these lines, but figured it'd just Jack banned from the game.....plus I figured the thought had already crossed his mind

At least the problem isn't as bad as the treehouse was with their $100 and $500 dice chip plaques.

Custom labelled slugged plastic? Probably could get some at 30c/chip.
If 60c/chip is too high for them, I'd definitely go this route. A decent set of relabeled Poker Knights or similar could be had for around 35c each or less (16c each for the base chip plus cost of custom labels).

That is definitely in the range of what I was thinking of as substantially less than .60 per. I haven't handled any broad variety of plastic chips in a long time. Maybe I'll get some samples of both the plastic and some GOCCs and show them just how much better things can be if they're willing to drop a (very little) more coin.
