Looking to build a custom set of hybrids. Working with Abbiati right now. This is mainly just a mock up for reference and visuals.

I've yet to make any decal designs or even what they will look like. Still thinking it through. Any ideas are welcome. Let me know what you think!

Not sure I'd go with both yellow and orange both as lower denoms, let alone right next to one another in the lineup.

Not sure of the need for both 25c and 50c chips in the same set. If you plan on playing 25c/50c, then just use quarters. If you plan on also playing 50c/$1 with the same set (although not necessarily at the same time)...then just use quarters. If you only plan on playing 50c/$1, just get the half dollars -and a single rack will suffice unless spreading multiple tables.

If going with the 23.5mm decal size, does that mean you'll have a ring of text used on the chip? Possibly a custom ring?

What's the name/theme of the chip?

Ordering an extra barrel of each for sample sets? Extras for yourself in case of loss?

Just an observation: The only "standard" color - cali or otherwise, is your black hundo. Everything else is generally a nonstandard base color for the slot. There's nothing strictly wrong for this in a custom set, but do be mindful of the useability of non-standard colors. You're not just making art, but building a tool. If you're going to go with non-standard colors almost entirely across the board, at least have a firm reason in your mind as to why you're making that decision. Note that "because I like it" is a perfectly fine reason. Just know that your set may be prone to mis-bets as a result.

Why go with Abbiati ceramic hybrids when Sun-fly’s are cheaper and more established?

Hey! Thanks for all the advice!

Great thing to point out about the yellow and orange. I'll definitely be thinking more on this!

And, Ive always liked having both .25 and .50. I know this seems a bit unnecessary, but I guess it's just a preference.

Yes, they will have a ring of text on each of them.

As for the theme or name of the chip...I am still trying to figure that out. The whole point of this line up was to be unique and creative, but I just havn't been able to land on a central point or theme. Open to ideas as well.

At the end of the day, these we're some of my initial thoughts, but it's definitely a working progress! Hope to continue this thread to the end and create something awesome with y'alls help!

Good call on the extra barrels! I was already considering doing that for safe measure, but just didn't update the numbers.

As far as the non-standard denom colors...I was aware of doing this. Although, I am not 100% on them yet. This was just my first mock up, so I definitely appreciate your point of view. I'll be thinking about this as well.

I'd love to look into them, but every time I try to go on their website, an error screen pops up. Not sure what the problem is, but I'll eventually figure it out. My computer doesn't block anything like that. But ultimately, I will be looking into them as well. Just want to have all my options on the table.

Get samples of everything you're considering.
You may find Abbiati is not what you want
Absolutely. If there is one thing I'm learning from this forum, it's to get samples of everything. Thanks for the advice!

These two types of chips are COMPLETELY different! This question would make sense if talking about very similar products. But they are so so so very different. Sometimes you get what you pay for? No knock on Sunfly. I am looking forward to my new Sunfly set arriving next week. But your question is misleading, since they are such very different products.

And this brings us back to....get samples!!!

I just want to clarify, Abbiati usually pushes ceramic hybrids instead of their normal injection-molded chips to the home market, because the injection-molded ones have minimums of 1000/denomination, so the ones referred to here are the same thing.

Ok, fair enough, with that clarification. Cuz, the injection molded chips are going to kick ass on the hybrids. :)

I guess I missed this part. My bad.

I must just be super duper excited about the Abiatti group buy chips to arrive. Yep, I am.

It’s $0.83/chip for 39mm hybrids from abbiati, but only $0.81 for 43mm hybrids from Sun-fly, which are objectively superior too, so you definitely want to go for those.

Are those the Polyinno ones?

Also, to get this in a 43mm set for cheaper does seem like a pretty sweet deal comparatively.

One thing I noticed on the SunFly chips is their edge spots don’t always align well. Drives my OCD mind a bit batty.
