I have been working for a while on getting a $500 chip made for my Happy Days Casino Lakewood Wa. set because the casino only made the $1 to $100 as it was smaller. Though a couple vendors were very nice and cordial none were able to make a chip without making every piece of it from scratch which is next to impossible and it probably would look off. My brother wasnt able to do it and hes pretty darn good(graphic designer with Nike and very competent with AI). I went to plan B which was to create a $500 plaque because I had seen other threads where PNY plauqes were made using photos. Again I was told had to be from scratch. I decided to look up those old threads and found the PNY were made by OWPS. So.......I contacted Salvatore.

Honestly words cant describe the level of service and professionalism I received. I have worked in customer service for 20 years in retail management and this was as good as it gets. When I contacted Salvatore I linked him my previous thread, he read it and said " I can do that. Did you want a chip or a plaque?" I wanted a chip and he said he thought he could do it. I thought it was cool I might actually get a chip. These are being used for my craps and blackjack table not poker which is why I wanted a chip. My biggest challenge was simply getting him a high resolution scan of an original chip. He let me know chip design was free with a paid order. I paid for 200 chips and within 24 hours I had the first mockup of my $500 chip. I also sent him a sample set so he could see them in person.

Salvatore let me know it took a lot of time but he enjoyed doing it. I had always wanted some micro chips for my set because while I have a group of guys I play regular poker with it's never at my house with my chips. I host two kinds of games at my house. One is with my wifes friends when we bbq and play games. That requires a 5 cent chip. The other is twice a year I invite the guys from work over for poker. It's a 25 cent limit game.

I asked Salvatore with the main design done how hard would it be to adjust the perimeter color and denomination. He said it was easy to do. I immediately ordered another 1000 chips and said give me an orange .05 and a turquoise .25 chip. Again it took all of 48 hours and he had sent me new mock ups. We spent a few weeks tweeking edge spot progression(and Salvatore noticed the starburst around the perimeter also progressed). He then sent me final samples. After I received them we had a few tweeks including lightening the purple chip as it was too close to the black 100.

Anyhow I just received my chips today. I took photos and am here share them with you. I'm very excited to play with them.

There are two reasons for this post. First to share my chips with you. Second to thank Salvatore for one of the most incredible experiences someone can have.

Thank you Salvatore!

Sal is a grand fella :). Your chips turned out great, well done for staying the course :).

So odd that sometimes the original chips say diner and others, casino. Great job on the spot progression.

Yah the 1s and 5s were made with both versions casino and diner. The 3s only with diner. The 25s and 100s only with casino. This is from searching eBay for 3 years.

Wow, great job @OldWestPokerSupplies! I remember thinking that duplicating this art was going to be an absolute bear when I saw these chips the first time. Definitely worth the effort.

Thanks Potsie. I love the photos. I am so glad you are satisfied with them. It was actually a pleasure to work with you as well.

Just so everyone knows we can print any denomination of these if anyone is looking for them with "Casino" or "Diner". :)
And as mentioned we can also do plaques, dealer buttons, octagons and ovals though they will need to be designed. Just send me an email. oldwestps @ gmail dot com

Thanks to everyone for the kind words as well and Enjoy. Happy Days!

Love the chips and I always love hearing great customer service stories about the sponsors. Nice full set, too!

Love these! I have some of the $25 that I use in my mixed casino chipco set I bought from the chiproom years ago.

I've ordered everything from chips, table cover, stainless steel cup holders, ect.... from Sal. He always answers the emails quickly and professionally. Solid dude with competitive pricing.

I want first dibs if you ever decide to part with those. Could use some more $25's and $100's. :)

Great looking chips! There was a set of of these on eBay and I had to do everything in my power to resist. Had I seen this thread and known I could have added on I probably wouldn't have been able to resist.

Right now the two sets on eBay are way overpriced. The one set by atlanticcoin has been listed for over a year. All year long it was listed at 279 and didnt sell. I was hoping it would come down a little like maybe 250 and I would snap buy it. Instead at the beginning of November the price was raised to 350. One week later 400. One week later 500. I guess he raises his prices for the holidays. Now I think its back to 450 but I anticipate it being back under 300 in january. Ive never paid more than .40 cents a chip but when you see how badly worn these are I question if theyre even worth that. For mint condition ones I'd pay upwards of $1 chip to be honest. Theyre impossible to find in that condition.

Now that Sal is making more denominations I might just go that route as well. BTW hes willing to make a $1000, $5000 and $10000. Any ideas on colors? Maybe $1000 pink, $5000 grey and 10k????(maybe a plaque)?

A 44mm 5k and 10k would be pretty awesome! Yeah a pink and grey would be pretty cool. I would have aid a orange 1k but the .05's are already orange so that's a no go.

OWPS has a 43mm and 46mm. Which one do you think? Also wouldnt a 25k instead of a 10k be better?

I don't think I've ever played with their 46mm. I tend to like 43-44mm personally but I'm sure either would be cool. I suppose following the x5 rule going from the 5k you'd jump to 25k then.

The 46mm chips are BIG. Make great bounty chips, re-buy chips, and the occasional oversize denomination (like 500,000 for GCOP), but the 43mm chips are much, much better for actual play in quantity. Very nice, in fact.

46mm chips are thicker, 43mm chips are standard thickness.

Ok good. I placed an order for the 43mm's for the 5k and 25k. Here is what I told Salvatore I was looking for on the new chips. I will post as soon as he gets the art done and sends me a picture.

Heres what I requested in colors and edge spot ideas. Of course any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

Salvatore,
For the $25,000 Im thinking a navy blue with a gold starburst. edge spot with 4 sections of 3 lines with two white wedges with a black wedge in the middle.
For the $5000 Im thinking a light grey with a silver starburst edge spot 5 sections with one white and one black
For the $1000 im thinking a pink chip but can the pink fade to white as it gets towards the center? so its white touching the pink neon? edge spot. 4 sections with 4 white lines but thinner than the others.
I also ordered a cmyk chips set. Can that be sent to me ahead of prototype production so I can look at colors on it?
Thanks,
jim

Salvatore has already created some mock ups. I really like how he did the fade on the pink 1k chip. I also like the edge spots on the 5k and 25k. I think it really completes the progression. I will probably want to change the yellowish starburst on the 25k as its not quite gold. When I get the cmyk chips Ill be able to really see what colors will mesh. What does everyone think? I welcome any ideas and feedback.

I'd be curious to know what the $1000 and $5000 would look like together in a pot. I suspect they would be difficult to distinguish for some...I know I'd be relying entirely on the spot to tell them apart. Perhaps reusing the orange for the $1000 with those spots?

I dont want to reuse any colors and I really like the pink. Is there anything else, maybe something subtle that would help with distinguishing them?

Make the 25K oversize and/or use some bright colors for the edge spots.....orange, green, yellow
