calling @BGinGA but anyone can feel free to chime in

there are several GB's going on right now, so I figured I might as well ask in its own easily searchable thread.

as the title says looking for a good 600 chip breakdown and blind schedule for

T25
T100
T500
T1000
T5000
and possibly T25000

Mostly around 8-10 people, but would like to see of it would work for 12-14people, I have a couple of 1000 chip tourney sets for bigger groups. I'm going to lean on the more expertise knowledge here for starting stack size, but I am thinking T15K with flexibility to go higher for a deeper stack tourney and smaller for a quicker tourney if needed.

Not intentionally trying to be vague for any reason just trying to get versatile set form a couple of 1 time GB's.

Thanks
Aaron

I am sure there will be more questions but I think you could get a T10,000 set for 20 as well. I play mostly cash so I am not a Tourney guru like Dave so I will be watching with interest.

Hard to do with full racks.

I would go T25 x 160, T100 x 200, T500 x 100, T1000 x 100, T5000 x 40.

My favorite breakdown for a T10K tourney is 12/17/6/5 (T25/100/500/1000). The above breakdown will be sufficient for 12 at that breakdown.
If more people show up, 8/8/6/6 works, and you could field 16.
At 8/8/2/3/1 (with T5K chips to start), make it to 20.

I didn't include chips for coloring up, as I generally just color the T25s with a single T5k. You have the big stack at each table sell his T25s plus sufficient addition chips to make 5k. Use these additional chips to chip up the other players. Alternatively, the big stack buys everybody else's small chips and then adds enough other chips to reach 5k. Works the same. This may not work well with my final breakdown (with T5k chips to start), but you will have enough smaller chips to color up using that breakdown.

I can't see a need for T25 and T25k chips both in use at a 2 table-max tourney. If you want a T25k starting stack, then I would dump the T25s and go from there.

600 chips is perfect for a 20 person T10,000 tourney set, with plenty of T5,000 chips for color-ups and rebuys:

160 x T25
160 x T100
80 x T500
140 x T1000
60 x T5000

TOTAL BANK: T500,000

600 chips. Starting stacks of 8/8/4/7. Do a search on PCF or the blue site for "BCC GCR" and "Goph" and you'll see a couple breakdown threads on the ideal T10K breakdown. My breakdown above is super flexible for all tourneys up to 20 players, and allows you to have T10K starting stacks, which I think is the most popular starting stack size. You'll also have more than enough chips for color-ups and rebuys/add-ons.

Also, I suggest buying a few spares of each denom in case of Murphy.

This is what I was thinking for a 600 chip set

14 Players

8/8/6/6 T10k starting stacks (12/12/5/6 is more preferable, but 8/8/6/6 is perfectly playable and more chip-economical)

120x 25
120x 100
90x 500
140x 1k
100x 5k
30x 25k

This allows you to start all the way up to T30k if you want to.

There's a great blind structure post that has preferred stacks and structures in the home/tourney section. I will defer to that thread for the structure recommendations (I'd link you but I'm on a phone right noe and don't have my links saved to it).

I just put together a 600-chip tourney set breakdown for 20 players earlier tonight at the request of another member. Works for 10 players with up to 30K stacks, or with 20 players with up to 15K stacks:

600-chip set:

160 x T25
160 x T100
120 x T500
140 x T1000
20 x T5000
----------
600 total chips

For 20 players with 15K stacks:

8 x T25
8 x T100
6 x T500
6 x T1000
1 x T5000
----------
29 chips = T15K

For 10 players with 30K, just double the previous stacks:

16 x T25
16 x T100
12 x T500
12 x T1000
2 x T5000
----------
58 chips = T30K

20 x T1000 chips are used in either case to color-up the T25/T100 chips. Also supports 20 x 10K re-buy tournaments.

I also approve of gopher's set breakdown, which works better if you usually run re-buy tournaments or want larger 50K stacks for 10 players:

160 x T25
160 x T100
80 x T500
140 x T1000
60 x T5000
----------
600 total chips

No real need for 25K denominations in a 600-chip set.

Here's one of my standard blind structures (40% avg increases) that works well for events ranging from 5k to 30k stacks (100BB to 600BB):

lvl sb bb
L1 25 50
L2 25 75
L3 50 100
L4 75 150
L5 100 200
L6 150 300
remove T25 chips
L7 200 400
L8 300 600
L9 400 800
L10 600 1200
L11 800 1600
L12 1200 2400
remove T100 chips
L13 1500 3000
L14 2000 4000
L15 3000 6000
L16 4000 8000
L17 5000 10000
L18 7500 15000
remove T500/T1000 chips
L19 10000 20000
L20 15000 30000
L21 20000 40000
L22 30000 60000
L23 40000 80000
L24 50000 100000

Using 15-minute blind levels, a 20-player 15K event (or 10-player 30K event) will typically finish in less than 4.5 hours (L18) plus breaks. Add 1.5 hours for 20-minute levels. A 10-player 10K event with 20-minute levels will typically finish in less than 5 hours (L15) plus breaks.

@BGinGA

I'm going to grab a 600 piece mini set if the boardwalk gb goes again. I like 7.5k, 10k, and 15k starting stacks, normally 10 players or less, occasionally 16 or so but I have other bigger sets so this one doesn't necessarily need to hit all these things. I was thinking 25, 100, 500 in 39mm and 1k and 5k in the bigger size obviously.

Are these chip breakdowns still on your approved list or would you go a different route with a 600 piece set now?

I have a 600 piece Rounders set, do 15k with 10 players, 16/16/6/10. Breakdown:

25 x 160
100 x 160
500 x 80
1k x 140
5k x 40
25k x 20

Have plenty of extra 1ks along with 5ks for rebuys or larger stacks. Also supports 20 player 20k. I've never used the 25ks (just had to buy them because they were so sweet--they're Rainman's fracs from his big purchase), so I'd just get extra 1ks or 5ks if you don't want to get a barrel of 25ks.

Edit: didn't see all those replies above. Anyways, that's my set...

Hallelujah!
If the casinos don't use them in a T15,000 tournament with 100 players, I don't know why anybody thinks they need them.

Because they're cool. Besides, moar chipes.
