5K post anniversary....all my chips on the table (1 Viewer)

These are awesome!
Do you feel the difference between the TRK and the BCC?
There for sure is a difference in feeling regards BCC - TRK - BURT/ASM/CPC - Paulson chips

Even a different mold from same producer can feel very different.
And formula too (leaded & non leaded).

But I have love for all clay chips, hard/soft, mint/worn, solid/confetti style, discreet/neon glow, leaded/non leaded....the works :)

One of my treats in life is jazz music...before covid I regularly visited concerts (often in small clubs) but now I love hanging back in my music room once the kids are in bed....smoking a phat one and blasting some Davis, Hancock, Coltrane, ... on vinyl (& headphone).

Awesome sets, Thomas!! Looking forward to more treats for us here...

Also, glad to see another Jazz fanatic around. A few years back, that's all I had in rotation. My jazz window is sort of small though, it goes from Bird up to before electric Miles. So yeah, maybe a little over 20 years of releases? lol! Not much before Bird and after Miles second quintet catches my attention. With a few exceptions, jazz after Miles decided to go electric just isn't the same to me.

Mirage

ARTWORK

When you have found a great creator, that deliveres stunning artworks...then why would you search elsewhere ? So another great colab with Steve (@p5woody).
Same goes for Chris @Gear @Wifey.... awsome labels, well worth the wait. This was a big order and everything came in flawless.
Thanks again for the fantastic end result you both delivered (again).

Thanks Ken @kk405 for holding & sharing chips and all the feedback during my design fase & chip choice....without you this set would have not become reality.
Thanks @churlbut18 for being the biggest limit enabler @PCF

CHIPS

I love black chips...but my cash games never run deep enough to have hundos on the table.
And since we don't often play tournies...my black chips don't see enough action.

When Jim @TheChipRoom posted the Jack Cincy sale, I loved that minty secondary hundo.
After receiving 3 racks from Jim...I loved them even more...so the tought to build a limit set was born.
The HSI secondary $25 paired very well with the hundos and colors matched with the artwork I wanted to use (synthwave FTW)

With this set, I can satisfy my needs...plenty of black chips to go around :sneaky:
Now, murdering 1400 chips was not for the faint hearted...but glad I got it done, end result is better than i envisioned.

Breakdown

1200 black
200 green

Let's keep this train going....

Bird Cage

ARTWORK
Another great colab with Steve (@p5woody) & Chris (@Gear)...never change a winning team.

I wanted a vintage look that would work well with the chips I was able to acquire...and the casino had to have used the mold in question.
I loved the Bird Cage artwork and wanted to mimick the feeling of those 60's styled LV casino racks... I think it worked.

CHIPS
It all started after scoring some horseshoe mold chips in one of the many awsome single sales John @JWC posts on regular basis.
Once I received them...WOW, I love this mold.
The more I researched the idea of creating a playable set, the more my hopes got squashed....since plunking down a few 1K's for single based Horseshoe casino set was not what I was after.

Pandemic did gave me loads of time to search around...and I had one AWSOME member that made it all possible.
Thanks Tom @TheBigTater
After that sale John @JWC Chris @Spinettis Gaming and John @TheDuke added more chips to the totals, so I was able to build 2 sets... Bird Cage is one of them. It will serve a shorthanded (6max) 25c/50c game with plenty of bank...I can add cash bricks should I ever run out.

Milling the cream-colored chips was easily the most difficult milling job I ever done.
I had 4 spare chips and the first 3 chips I milled, broke milling the first side...it took all the black magic & 420 in my powers to have 112 perfect chips & 8 with a tiny crack (but structural solid). That was a close call...

Breakdown

120 25c (blue)
120 $1 (cream)
100 $5 (orange/yellow)
15 $25 (black/red) -> these are original Treasure Chest $25 chips

Sublime!

@Thomacetti love this retro looking set. i need this in my life.
Older ASM & Burt chips are great for building an awsome retro-set.
Some molds can be found cheap like solid HHR/HHL but also more 'obscure' molds (dots, L-mold, ...), other will need more creativity and patience to get a set done.
Arowdie and Horseshu mold are some of the most difficult chips to find in good condition & in quantity.
Also take in account that hotstamped chips (often) have to be milled (cost) and this also comes with some broken chips (so get extra's).

Or you can create a new CPC set with a vintage theme / artwork, plenty of very cool examples floating around on PCF.

Good luck with the hunt

@Thomacetti All you patience and magic paid off, the Bird Cage's turned out fantastic. So glad to see them get reborn into a playable set. :cool
Thanks Tom, again...you were awsome with helping me out AND not ripping me another money-hole when selling the motherload AT YOUR COST (cheap).
Without that, I would still be stuck with 178 non matching chips and no sets

I made good on my promise...glad you like it...and one more horseshu mold set to go ;)

Sunday in Belgium....so time for another posting :)

Key West

ARTWORK & MOLD

The origin of the Key West chips goes way back, I've always been a fan but since Dennis @dennis63 acquired the rights. things only improved for the better.
Awsome artwork, iconic H-mold & vintage Miami vibe...add a great vendor & fantastic value.....what not to like ?

Key West

CHIPS
I wanted this to be my 'can do all' set...it started with a limit set from @churlbut18 but soon I added multiple lots (@w00zie & @Meddler2) to build my biggest cash set.

Recently Dennis offered a limited 'one time' run of charcoal $20's...these were an awsome addition to finalize my set.

Breakdown

200 25c (I use the two racks of blue for quarters)
800 $1
400 $5
100 $20 (charcoal)
160 $20
40 $100

Very nice set you have there, Thomas! Love the charcoal $20s. Key Wests were my first set and I still have and love them.

Thank you Stefan...you were a fantastic help when I was building mine.
In the end, I had no color issues with the fivers from different batches...but if there was, you would have saved the day.

Thanks for posting my friend, hope all is well

For all the new chips that hit the market, I think what I love most about this community is the previously unseen ones that have been curated with unrivalled love, creativity and attention to detail.

Yours don't just fit into the aforementioned category — they define the category itself.

Bravo, buddy.

Glad I could help! And good to know there is no difference in colors concerning future add-ons.

All is well, just an occasional break of 2,5 years due to our baby girl and then Covid hitting shortly after she was born. ;) I hope you are good as well!

Midnight Jazz Club

One of my treats in life is jazz music...before covid I regularly visited concerts (often in small clubs) but now I love hanging back in my music room once the kids are in bed....smoking a phat one and blasting some Davis, Hancock, Coltrane, ... on vinyl (& headphone).

So...when I (way back in 2010-11) had the chance to order a semi custom hotstamped BCC set on the MGK mold, it didn't take long to decide that it would have to be a jazz theme.

ARTWORK

Chris (@Gear, then still Gear-X ;)) made a fantasic (hotstamp) design for another contest that was runnning on CT some years prior.

View attachment 911932

I was in love with that artwork and once Chris gave green light for me to use it, I couldn't be happier.
Fabian aka Meatboy was one of the great stampers of the day...and we were (and still are) close friends...and with the help of Chris & Fabian, the artwork was made hotstamp ready.

CHIPS

All sets on the MGK-mold were a collab between Joshua Dalton (mold owner) & BCC...but all communications, order & payments went via Joshua.
Not going into details here...but after delivery I was stuck with 11 racks of horrible chips (color issues, warping, ghost molding, ...the works).
It took all of my motivation and all the help in the world to end up with a great set, in perfect condition & playable breakdown.
I'll never forget that, besides Chris..all members that had a part in this venture have left the scene.

For that, to me..this set has no price due to it's huge sentimental value.

Breakdown

40 5c (BCC hot pink)
100 10c (BCC arc yellow)
160 25c (BCC chocolate)
300 $1 (TRK sahara turquoise) -> best base color EVER !
100 $5 (TRK yellow)
100 $20 (TRK blue)

Thanks for all the awsome replies and feedback already
Plenty of sets and paraphernalia to come...

I was thinking about these bounties and dealer few days ago !
Nice to see a pic of these !

Pics won’t do them justice. I’ll just fly to Belgium and see them for myself ;)
My door and house is 24/7 open for you & the Slisk family my brother...hope all is well.
We must hook up in September (or sooner in case you're coming to EU this year).
