Check out the 'Atlantic Club' set that is produced by Classic Poker Chips.
Some PCF jargon keywords to translate/search: CPC HS Atlantic Club
Plenty of these chips out there - You should be able to find these in your price range on PCF.
They have a great tournament feel and have the colors of a premium set.

I looked this morning. They are going for 700 new.

I don’t mind used chips in good condition, that’s why I’m searching here

When we use to play tourneys I skipped $25s all in all n just started $100-$100 or $100-$200 blinds forgot $25 chips lol just use $100,$500,1k , 5k & 25k if the set u buy has them not a fan of $25s only use $25s if u love $25s lol

You get to throw more chips around if you use 25s so yes I love 25s

Just do what you like. There is no advantage to one or the other.

I've run T100 base. Had more complaints than anything.

Some crews don't want change. Even if it's cool!
 
Sounds like your budget is $1 per chip...
Best to figure out what starting stacks you want, where your blinds start, etc
Then give people some examples of what kind of chips you like (in and out of your price range) and what sets you are looking at currently and / or have samples of.
The more info you supply the more likely you'll receive recommendations that fit

You can get away with a nice 400 set here.

100/60/120/120
(T100,500,1000,5000)

this can accommodate even more than the 6 you are seeking to host.

with a $1 budget, you can score something very nice.
