What would be the ideal quantity of each domination with a 500 piece poker set?

$1 x ?
$5 x ?
$25 x ?
$100 x ?

this would be for a home cash game 9 players max 1/2 NL.
Thank you in advance

200/200/80/20. looks good.

But if you could squeeze 200 more $5s in there for 700 chips total. Much nicer.

What is your max buy in? How many reloads do you expect per game?
If its something like $200 buy in with about 3 bullets per player than you could maybe get away with a 500 chip set but it would not be ideal.
I always have between 600 and 800 chips for my cash sets, with 300+ in the workhorse chip.

Maybe something like this for a 500 chip set:
140/260/80/20 gives you a bank of $5440 ($200 x 9 players x 3 bullets each = $5400)

Starting stack $200=15/22/3

If your games plays big this may not cut it, may be better to go for a larger set and follow @pltrgyst suggestion or something similar, maybe more 5's and 25's less hundos.

I'd say you only need minimal $1 chips. 10 per player should be fine. Unless the game is super passive you only need it to post initial blinds.

Load up on $5s and $25s and then $100 for rebuys.

But ideally you need more than 500 chips.

100 $1
400 $5
100 $25
50 $100

$9600 bank.

With just 500 chips maybe cut down to 300 $5s, 80 $25s, and 20 $100s.

9 players 1/2 NL
(Restriction 500 chips max)- I would bring this breakdown to maximize my bank and playability.
135 - $1
220 - $5
100 - $25
45 -$100
500 chips

This breakdown gives a starting stack of
15 x $1 , 22 x $5 , 3 x $25 = $200

1st Rebuy (one reload for everyone in 25's, total 9 reloads)
8 x $25 =$200

2nd Rebuy+ (2 more reloads per player+3 more leftover, total 21 reloads)
2 x $100 =$200

overall initial buy in for 9 players plus 30 reloads.... if things get more wild than that you can afford a larger set

***don't forget most chip cases actually hold 50-100+ more chips than the size dictates, check your case capacity you may be able to fit more 5's and 1's.
If able to bring 100 more chips I would add
45- $1
40- $5
15-$100

giving a breakdown of
180-$1
260- $5
100- $25
60- $100
600 chips, carefully fit maximizing case capacity.

Wow, thanks to everyone for being so helpful . now I have better understanding quantities for each denominations. This forum rocks . Cheers

My two cents - you can do it with 500 chips, though it’s far from ideal. I’d never waste a full second rack of $1 chips here. I’d probably go something like 150/250/80/20
That’s a bank of $5400, which, without more details, SHOULD be enough for a $1/2 game, 9 handed.

I 'm afraid the OP said MAX 1/2 which could mean as low as .50/.50 or even .25/.25?
Not possible to get away from 600 chips in that case
100x ND fracs (to play as either .25 or .50 or even $2 in non-fractional blinds games)
150x $1
200x $5
100x $20
50x $100

I'd go with 150/200/100/50.

It makes a little bit more than 4 bullets per player (assuming $200 buyin on 1-2 blinds).
