My play group doesn't really do tournaments, but I wanted to have a cool STT just in case and was slow rolling this. Well, the Matsui Zen GB kicked off and I wanted those sweet plaques so that's likely going to be my one STT set.

Originally was going to do a T2000 STT with a T5 base. I only got 3 chips in and was considering a plaque for the T500 but now I'm thinking just some other chip. Maybe a purble if there are even 4D14 purple chips out there. Suggestions on a T500 are welcome.

Anyways, looking for advice on what to do next. Finish the set, sell it off to a new home, keep it for later when my interest may return?

On to the Pr0n.

The concept:

FWIW I think the spot on the red is showboat gray, the spot on the green is probably maroon and the third chip is a charcoal base with aqua and arc I think.

Purple 4d14s are incredibly scarce, maybe shoot for a blue one or honestly whatever other 4d14s are around, they're not super common in a non red green or black base.

yeah, looking at it again, the colors there are wrong. I'll pop out my samples during the daylight and double check.

also, not seeing a ton of 4d14 options that aren't red/green/black. A very few yellows, but that's really it.

Really thinking about just selling these and moving on. Not gonna do another STT set and can't see using these for anything else.

Interested in the reds and blacks in that case. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you do end up selling.

Is there a link around here to explain all these spot pattern identifications. After 18 months I've figured out a couple of simple ones, like 8v and bear claws. But that's it.

@JustDave posted a link to a graphic. But it’s helpful to realize that the #’s generally describe the physical characteristics of spots.

4D14=
4: 4 spot positions
D: the spots are “doubled” or paired
14: the spots are 1/4” in width

There are very few yellow options. I used VLV 1Ks and those weren’t easy/cheap. For blues I used Carnival Funships/Windstar/Holland Cruise Snappers. You also have Riffle Steins. For purple the only ones I found in quantity were the blurple Ace High Casino.

My suggestion: use these as is.

For T500, get plaques!
That was the plan, but now I have another set with plaques.

Yeah, I feel like I did an @Eloe2000 scavenger hunt around the forums working backwards from a lot of what you did. VLV 1ks, ace high and riffle I’ve all identified as options. Appreciate the alternative blue suggestions, hadn’t stumbled upon those.

Could just have a smaller stt that’s all THC as my other tournament stt would be matsui and plaques. Give me something a bit different and could do a cool inlay for. Could do something bright and vibrant but I may have the wrong greens for that. The other two denoms are bright and that one is very forest/earth tone. Cool chip, but doesn’t match well.

There are some other personalized hotstamp 4D14 options out there in smallish quantities from the days when Paulson sold custom chips and 4D14 was on of their options. But you have to really search those out or happen upon them by luck. There are two different peach ones available as a couple racks that I tried to get a hold of but was unsuccessful. Those could work as 1Ks.

Missed this post. Thanks for being more verbose. I miss sometimes that people don’t get what these mean nor that they can look at that picture and make the connection in their head of what the code means in chip form.

It's one of the Rites of Passage around here. :)

Nothing else I can think of. White just seemed to be a good contrast with the colors you already have.
