Hello @VivasTable

Obviously, I don’t know where Ben is with your order in particular in the queue, so I can’t speak to that directly. But I can tell you I am the big order he referenced in a post on this thread. Not the one he got out right before he took some R&R time, the other giant order in the list. I placed my order on 6/30, and he’s not kidding when he says it’s big. It’s crazy big. And for that, I apologize for putting a bit of a log jam into the mix.

I will say this is my second order with @One Eyed Dollar. My first experience was spectacular, and 100% worth the wait. It was so good in fact, that I pulled the trigger on outfitting all 180+ of my Apache racks with spacers and tiny cradles that will hug and love my chips when I can’t get them on the felt.

That said, while I’m not sure when my order will arrive, I am confident it is not forgotten and will be on its way as soon as it’s ready. I like to look at it as less time spent updating an ever changing list and more time spent getting those orders ready. Just my two cents.

This ^ ... before I got into 3D printing, I placed my own orders with Ben and loved them. I will say that I now fully understand the time it takes to make a single 3D printed item; that little rack which looks so simple can take 14 hours to print. Hopefully Ben is OK and can provide an update here soon.

I gotta own that my worries didn't help the situation my last order, but do gotta say, Ben did deliver and I had no issues. I do believe it now when people stayed Ben works on his own schedule...Not saying this negatively, because I don't care and the products he gives us are priced realistically and help immensely.

He will pop up soon. Ben's a huge help in this place.

Order queue updated!

All delays are currently @Benjaminotaur 's fault - haha! I still have a few weeks to go to finish that one. It's enormous. I changed my workflow around and I'm printing the trays 50% faster, but it's still taking a long time. The printers are running day and night. And then you get days like today:

Bowden tube fittings are dumb.

I will work on getting better with communication, but it is always hectic here. On Saturday we had an Eagle Scout project that I helped with, and then I actually hosted a poker game for the first time all year, which was exciting! I should actually play poker more often. This coming weekend I'm taking a long weekend trip with my wife for our anniversary, so the printers will be idle for a few days, but then I'll be back at it! In September I will be busy another 2 or 3 weekends for Scouts (being Scoutmaster continues to take a whole lot of time), but I will try to check in more often. Right now I'm buried in messages that I haven't had time to read and I feel lots of guilt so it's hard to even get started, but I will. I'm not going anywhere for Labor Day, so I'm hoping to get caught up some then.

Thanks for all the support and patience!!
Ben

He has not signed in since August. I may just turn this over to my credit card company. I would not mind waiting if there was better communication.
Sadly I might need to do the same since it’s total radio silence.
Ben may be very busy, and not very communicative, but I highly doubt he's a scammer. Have you emailed him and specifically asked him to cancel your order and refund your payment?

I don't think they are doing that because they think he is a scammer, they are more likely doing that because there is no communication from his end thus are maybe become frustrated about it instead

I don't think most people realize how long 3D printing takes. If he gets a large order, or multiple large orders, it could easily eat up his printer(s) for months.

But I agree that the communication needs to be better.

I don’t think he’s a scammer. It’s what LeLe said. Just haven’t heard anyone getting their orders and when projects go on hold for a long time with no communication it’s usually a bad sign. Hope this turns around for him.

If you read through this thread you can see this happens a couple of times a year - total radio silence for months and then a big influx of shipments. My past orders have been like this and I was also ready to dispute the charge.

It’s a shame, because the product is so great, but the business is treated as a hobby and it frustrates almost everyone who places an order. I can be patient for something I want, but there’s a difference between having, say, a queue that updates weekly (reliably) and people placing orders then not hearing anything for months. 3D printing takes time, totally. But in my mind the whole system could be remedied if there was simply 1) a warning on checkout that tells buyers orders can take months to fulfill and 2) a queue that is updated regularly, no matter what personal/family obligations the business owner has. That’s just good business.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! Sorry again for being a terrible business operator. I will probably not renew my vendor status again. But in the meantime, I'm working hard on shipping out a bunch of orders. I've been printing a lot, but not shipping, so I have a big backlog again. I just sent 4 emails about orders to verify if they want 22-chip or 21-chip inserts for the chip flattening racks, so check your inbox if you ordered that size. Lots of people order the 22-chip size by mistake when they really want the 21-chip version, so I like to verify before I ship.

Back to packing and shipping!

@Benjaminotaur I still have to do some cleanup work on your massive order, so that one is printed but not ready to ship yet, sorry!

*hangs head in shame*

@One Eyed Dollar I hope you don't decide to give up the business. As some said, maybe just a clear warning that orders may take several months, or possibly when you reach a point where you know the backlog is more than a few months, you just don't take any new orders? In the meantime, those of us who have known you for a while will continue to have your back here on this thread.

Selfishly, I have a few things I want to buy and have been waiting for your current backlog to clear... Whatever you decide, please know how much we appreciate what you do here. Thank you Ben!

I’m still waiting as well, never got an email update either. Ordered back in spring.
I got one, it was in my spam/junk folder though and it may depend on whether whatever you ordered is an item that can be mistaken for another similar product --e.g. 22 versus 21 chip rack. If what you ordered would not be confused with a similar product, he probably would not have asked for an order clarification.

I am waiting as well for my sample matsui inserts. Once I figure out what size insert I need, I was planning to make a big order. @One Eyed Dollar, please don’t stop taking orders!!
