I see these two molds out there from time to time. Are these antique clay chips, early plastics, or does it depend upon the lot? I’ve happened across a few auctions for both now, and was wondering what exactly I’m looking at.

Handling some Flower Molds (MD-72) I am gaining a growing appreciation for vintage clays...

Most of these very old chips are clay. Though the formulation of clay has evolved over the many decades since.
