Hey guys, I'm helping @David O out with the 2018 PCF calendar and we have one more thing to nail down. Without going into specifics, we have one more slot to fill on the calendar. Please vote in the above poll for your favorite set.

Voting will close in three days.

We are down to the following sets for a tie breaker.

First I would like to publicly thank Andrew, @dew4au, for graciously stepping up to get the calendar created and finished. Due to a recent change in my family's personal lives much of my personal time and thoughts are need elsewhere. I did not think I could give the same time and effort into the calendar as I tried to do in the past and wanted to make sure you all received a great product. I am not going anywhere and will still be active.

Thank you to all of those who have sent great thoughts and/or prayers. This is a great community!

Enough about me!!!

Thank you Andrew! you are awesome!

Absolutely! I also just noticed that both of these sets have custom felts... Very close for sure.

Not that this will sway votes at all, but the metronome pic with felt is a rendering. (By no means am I reducing how cool this set is).

I love both sets for different reasons, this is a tough one.

Ooh these are both really nice sets.

Also just want to say Thank You for helping out with the calendar, Andrew. Much appreciated sir.

Just so everyone is aware the original rules only state that the set must have been produced to make the calendar. If the chips are current chips then they are eligible.

Thank you @dew4au and best wishes to David's family for a smooth resolution of any current personal issues

I know this set is real and was produced, the one pic is a rendering. The comment was about custom felt, in this pic its a rendering.

He states in his pr0n thread that this one is an actual camera shot. One thing that sets his renders apart is that he does not do the random "stray clay" dot patterns that real CPC chips show. Look at the brown dot on the blue spot on the $5. White spot at the 5 o'clock position on the $25. I believe it's a real photo, but maybe @Ray-Col can stop by and clarify.

I see what you're saying. That makes sense.

You're wrong. But thanks a lot for the compliment in terms of the overall quality of my renders. :)

You're right. (y)

I guess when following the link to the pron it should be pretty obvious that these are real photos: They have dirt, lint and all sorts of things my render will never simulate (time would be quadrupled when trying to do that).

[EDIT: render/photo removed]

I can't vote for my own set, can I?

I never really took a good look at the Metronome chips before and that is a travesty. These are very elegant. Give me an old school set on a great mold any day of the week. I look at this set and it makes me think of a casino that could be in Monaco. Well done. I'd vote for these to be considered for the Hall of Fame when they become eligible.

Hey, what gives posting extra pron in the vote thread, lol...

Well, my turn then...

Sorry, mate, didn't want to take any unfair advantage. Voted for your set to compensate. :)

Just giving you a hard time. No apologies needed. Lol.

Your set is awesome! So funny how our sets are so different but yet both look good. Yours is that muted classic look, mine took inspiration from a Fat Tire neon sign, so the colors are bright.

Hey, where’d your second pic go? Bring it back, there was no need to edit it out. :).

Yup, stunning that these sets - two 'styles' as different as can be - attract an even amount of votes! Basically no meaningful bias as of yet.

I just wanted to clarify and illustrate the misunderstanding regarding the photo that was considered a render but actually isn't. I gave no thought to the vote-skewing effect an additional pic might have - clearly my fault. No reason (at least for me) to put up that render again. ;)

In short, please be considerate of others. Don’t give anyone a hard time. Post lots of pr0n. And thank you for your contribution to PCF!

What a GEM! :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO:
No offense meant, just a funny coincidence of wording (to a guy who usually fails big time when it comes to the subtlety of your language). :)

Dare I mention that I'm still a fan of you set? To quote myself (December 2016):
Honestly, I admire your tourney set since first sight and the cash extension doesn't fall short.

Whoops, spoke too soon, I lost votes and you gained a few. ;)

Apparently me giving you a hard time has angered the vote karma gods, lol

There is one way to make sure this thread vote goes in your favor...

Have your wife bake a pie for @dew4au

Well, my favorite is pecan pie. Just sayin...:sneaky:

Is that even a thing in Wisconsin? I'd settle for some fresh cheese curds then. I know it's completely out of Ray's ball park, so I guess I would settle for as good bottle of eiswein from him. Saves better for shipping, too. Can't find any German bottles here anymore; only Canadian!

;)

Keep it fair!

I was going for a promotion, and it was down to me and one other candidate. On the final executive interview date, the competition baked the boss her favorite pie, claimed that she was just nervous and started baking to calm herself. Lol, whatever. The boss even jokingly brought up the pie in MY interview... I thought it was funny (considering this woman was widely disliked). Of course I had no chance...
