Lol naming no names. We are only one away from having everything ready and some compiling by me and Tommy

Yes there will be a new selection at the end of 2015/beginning of 2016! Future years will be smaller, the first class was big in order to give us a rolling start

Great set. If I remember correctly we only had one picture of it [emoji26]

I think we got a few more than one. IIRC we got help from Marsh and Matt. The pics aren't on my work desktop or on the flash drive I would expect, so they're probably on my server at home. I'll check tonight.

Toby, please don't share your list on the public thread!

@Toby check the instructions in Tom's PM that discuss how and when to share our lists with one another within the committee. That way we avoid any influence over one another until we each have our lists finalized.

(I almost did the exact same thing you did, btw, and then I remembered the process from last year. Now I have a big document saved in my gmail drafts.)

Cool. It's C U Next Tuesday in particular that I'm interested in. Thanks

The only pic I've got. One of my all time favorites.

Unfortunately I didn't find any more photos of the C U Next Tuesday set, but I did find PAZ's photos (the first two below) and another photo of the TRK Red Room set someone mentioned earlier here or maybe in another thread.

I would imagine @PAZ has or will have some more good shots of the set at some point, which was originally created by @boondocker on CT.

I know it is cliche but each and every set that was nominated (and their owners) should be honored. There were several fantastic sets (IMO) that didn't make the cut. It is a shame that they can't all get in but that's the way these things work. Best of luck to all of these incredible sets :)

Full disclosure: I didn't read this thread in it's entirety. I read the first page, but felt compelled to write. I hope that some resolution was come to, or maybe some better way to select custom sets to have nominated?

I must say, two of the all-time best sets didn't make the list of nominees. Payback's Piss'd n Broke set is stunning... and one of the best tourney sets in existence, Jeff's King's Club set is absolutely amazing (especially when you think of all the 5th level thinking that went into the design/coordination of the chips and multiple inlay versions. There are other sets that didn't make the list, but these were just a few that came to mind.

Dunno why I'm responding to this, but I just noticed this thread. It has a select grouping of honored sets, but the list is missing some incredible examples.

Anyway, if I'm just drudging up old hats, disregard and carry on :)

The way members can impact which sets are chosen for nomination is to advocate for the sets they feel deserving in this or other threads. Did you try to stump before now for the above sets you wish were included? This thread has been bumped and other threads open for some time if you cared to push for those or other sets.

To be honest, never heard of the HOF before this, probably because I wasn't in the custom market?

Not sure how you could possibly not have seen any of the relevant threads. There have been at least four devoted to it and the current thread seeking members' input is in the Poker Chip General subforum which isn't limited to custom chips obviously.

In any case, criticism is a little late to say the least with regard to last year's inductees to say the least and it's pretty much at the last possible second for this year. The current thread has been up for three weeks.

FWIW both of the sets you mentioned were considered for last year's nominations and were not selected. But the basis of your hope that the process should be corrected is simply based on your disagreement with the results which imo is simply a case of results oriented thinking. In other words, the process is solid. If you want a different result, try to influence the nominations by speaking your mind about a set's strengths before the nomination process is nearly complete.

Will do. :)

And keep your eyes peeled - the 2016 HoF voting thread will be going up early in the new year.

Given the number of customs out there, it is crazy helpful to have others point out sets that the committee members missed. As for Piss'd / Kings Club, I had reviewed both sets this year as well, but neither made it through the criteria that I set for my nominees. Each member selects sets based on what they believe is important. It takes at least 50% of the members to agree on a set before it gets nominated. The process isn't about inclusion - it's about exclusion.

In the first year, 3 committee members served 1 year. The other 3, and all replacement members serve a 2 year term. Thus the selection committee will change every year, and we are likely to see very different sets go to the voting thread every year. Some you think are worthy (like a certain Zombie set  :whistling:) might not get nominated, but it doesn't mean it's not worthy. It's just not it's time... yet.

LOL, love the cat meme.

I seriously never paid any attention to the subject. I think we all have certain "triggers" that we scan the forum for, and certain topics that we skim or skip over (for whatever reason). I've watched a number of the custom design threads, but for some reason never noticed (nor remember noticing) the HOF discussions.

For instance, if you post a thread about donuts, I'm SURE to pay attention :)

I'll have to read up on the HOF stuff, and then provide some input into the 2016 class. I think it's a great idea.
