These will be ordered through CPC

Hey guys this will be my first real set of poker chips besides some $10 ones I bought at a gas station in college. Here is the $100 chip. there will also be a $500 and $1000 denominations.
I think "brothel and casino" should be capitalized. also, do I need denominations on the chips when I send them in or will CPC help me with that and the font for the numbers?

any other advise is welcome since this will be my 1st rodeo. im going for a super classy vibe as you can tell. thanks.

What type of chips do you want from CPC, clay or ceramic? If clay, what mold and using which colors and inserts?

I think the artwork could be improved upon in addition to the two points already mentioned. Maybe see about getting someone to help with that?

Lastly, with only three denominations, what are you planning to use your set for?

I would be getting clay chips.

The mold would probably be fleur de lys since its nice without have the same thing repeated too many times. I do like hourglass but I feel they arnt spaced out enough. I would like roman but they dont offer it anymore.

I will be using these for texas holdem cash games but i feel like $1, $5, $25 denominations arnt good because the difference between 1-25 is too large. 100-1000 is only 10x difference. with a $25 buy allows for 25k in chips (25 %100, 25 $500, 10 $1000) gives you 60 chips which i think is a fun amount and $1 = $1000 in chips. and if you scale up to $50 or $100 buy in you scale back on the $100 and $500 chips as needed.

If you want a scalable set of chips, I think going without denominations might be best. Then you can assign any values you need each game to the chips. But if you want denominated chips, I would get chips with the actual values you’ll be using.

I've seen that advise in other places too but I dont feel like satoshi brothel would have $1 chips. It is much too high scale for that.

it doesnt fit the story.

Just so you know, there isn't a spot pattern that even comes close to what that chip looks like from CPC.

Yeah I know. I didnt put it there, the artist I hired put the inlay on there just as a curtesy to visualize . They also supplied just pictures of the inlay.

Brothel and casino will likely not be legible, especially on a textured inlay. Those thin lines might also be problematic. Not sure if the FDL inlay is textured or not.

As for a modern brothel and casino vibe? Gross and tone deaf. If you do it, go really old school and more classy- like gold rush era saloon & brothel. Something with a Klondike or San Fran vibe.

Get a different artist. One that’s experienced with poker chips.

Edit: Also, before you make a big order from CPC, familiarize yourself with their options, buy a bunch of mold samples to evaluate your favorites, and get color samples to make sure you know what they look like in person.

So like no bra? I'm really going back and forth on which would be better as well. Im worried the bra will make it look like a beach resort.

I've heard the people at CPC will offer some help as long as the bulk idea and art is submitted, they will offer corrections to art and font/color

Since youve been so helpful, do you know if CPC offers foil coloring (like gold looking font)? except I might want the girl shifted to one side so the number doesnt cover her then make her bra and panties bronze / silver / gold foil depending on the denomination.

So if your cash game needs $1, you will avoid because it doesn’t fit the story?
I guess I’m missing something...

The story of the poker chips matters in this case. if a random person off the street found this on the ground. would they think even for a moment this legit came from an underground brothel? THAT is the goal.

Unfortunately CPC does not offer foil inlays or metallic colors.
oh no. who is the best chip maker to the public that does? and do you think it would be worth the step down to get the metallic in this case? I've got custom art and dont want to waste it.

CPC chips are a substantial dollar investment. This is something that cannot be rushed. Everybody goes through like an 8-step process before they even begin to claim they are in the final design stages.

That is ok with me and is something I was expecting. do you have any advise on changes to this one?

I get it that the story is important. If your group plays at high enough stakes that a $1 chip will never be needed, that’s fine.

Learn more about the chips you are wanting to make and the limitations they come with. Maybe take some time to read up on some other member journeys into custom cpcs and the process they have all been through. The search feature is your friend.

You need a proper mock-up of your art on an appropriately sized/shaped inlay. Default is round with 7/8" diameter. This is the general dimensions you have to work with.

Try various positions of the graphic elements with the text. Sometimes you can overlap, sometimes they look better when they are separated. Choose a background colour (I would suggest plain white). Play with the fonts and the font sizes. If you are finding that the label looks too cluttered, then consider having differing inlays for both sides of the chip and divide the elements between them.

It is good to get some inspiration from other designs that work. Perusing the "Best Of 2020" threads will show you a variety of popular CPC chip and inlay designs. Of course, this is your set, so your opinion matters most.

Have you handled these molds? fleur de lys isn't a very popular mold these days - there might be a reason for that.

Would a place called Satoshi have chips denominated in USD?

Sigh. I know, i know this is part of it that is killing me. Satoshi comes from the smallest unit of a bitcoin. but lets say I put like "100k sats" this is how it would actually denominated. that would only be about $45 in usd because 1 sat is 1/100M btc (bitcoin) This was done by a real online poker site that brought these out as a promotion. they go on eBay now for $300-$1500 now. im sure there are some here that have them as you guys seem like collectors. but but this were made in like 2015 when bitcoin was much cheaper and im not sure if the number on it would have the same ring to it. back then. they used "bits" instead of "satoshi" but they ment the same not sure why they chose it. Really is a point of frustration for me to have it in USD. please offer an alternative if you think of one.

Also, look up Larry Flynt's lucky lady chips. There are tempting pictures on the single :).

I just searched him up because I havnt heard about him in so long. he just passed this year 2/10/21. Truly a visionary, sad to hear about. But that chip does honor him well.
