Looks like I will be hosting 1/2 in my near future, with guys that straddle a LOT and are not afraid of playing like 2/5... or will play like a big 1/2 game

Bank is currently:

400 - $1
400 - $5
300 - $25

Wondering if I should bump to 400 $25's? I have them available...

I would like to avoid getting more $5's due to not being able to find VGC Cleveland $5's, and I don't want to start mixing conditions :)

Plus, for a single table 4 racks is 20 barrels or over 2 barres per person.. rest in 25's and rebuys in 25's, right?

If you're adding one rack of chips, I'd consider a rack of $100 chips to better accommodate a big 1/2 and/or 2/5 type game.

I'd also add more $5 chips, but that's not a bank issue as much as it would just be nicer to have a few more racks of fives.

edit: just saw your second post about the fives after I made the above comment

I might as wel throw up a wanted ad for VGC $5's and see what happens.. I do want 600 ideally. Perhaps I should get 2 or 3 barrels of $100's for those wild nights..

Agree with @bentax1978's suggestions. If you can get a couple more racks of $5s, definitely a good idea and definitely add some $100s, preferably a full rack (for both bank and OCD considerations).

I just sold my rack of 100's a month ago lol, didn't think I'd have a game large enough to need it.

Then again 3 racks of $25's is $7500 right there plus $2000 in $5's gives me almost $10k bank

If you end up playing 2/5 at some point. with a $500-1000 buy-in, $10k won't be enough as it will just covers your initial buy-ins and perhaps a few rebuys. Your game may never get that big, but I'd rather have the rack of $100 chips ready to go in case it ever does.

A bank of $9,900 might be fine for a normal 1-2 game, but not for the game described in the OP. A rack of $100s will solve that problem but a rack of $25s is not enough.

Well the crazy game last night where buddy had $4k to himself, there was maybe $6k on the table... and while there was a lot of rebuying, it could have been more... but I can't see more than $8000 on the table, that's an average of $1000 in for each player at 1/2...

Based on that, you absolutely need a rack of $100 chips in your set.

Fiiiiiiiiine, I'll buy more chips.

Hopefully I can buy some for what I sold mine for lol

You guys are ballers with the numbers you're discussing. I can't even get a single $100 chip on the table never mind barrels/racks of them.
At my normal game of .25/.50 I've never even broken into a second rack of $5's :(

The 1/2 game will play a bit bigger for sure, but I doubt very much I'll ever need to put the $100's on the table unless I want to just color up somebody that's a huge winner to keep his stacks more manageable...
