1/2/5 PLO Hand against the crazies (1 Viewer)

A pro is going to need a lot more bankroll than an a rec player. Rec players may only be playing 1-2 times per week and and have other income to pay bills. The pro needs a much larger cushion.

Also I doubt this game has those crazy straddle amounts happening on a regular basis.
I realize that. I'm getting ready to go pro on the nickel/dime circuit, so I just need to be prepared for the swings. :D

Runs every week, multiple tables

What I meant is I doubt there is a straddle to $80 multiple times per orbit.

And it there is even straddles to $20 (which would mean 3 straddles I assume) then why not have a $5/10 game as well and then have the $1/2 game? Allow only a single straddle at each, either on the Button or from UTG. The games will both play better for it.

Correct, it's a forced $5 button straddle. The restraddle to $10 is fairly common, the 20/40/80 less so

Hero opts to fold. The combination of Heros image, villain asking if I had suited Kings and his theatrics with a big stack in trying to convince me he had just a wrap made me fold. He was trying too hard to get a call

He did indeed have AA as his other two cards, and won both boards

Wasn't thrilled throwing away the $390 that hand, but could've been my entire stack which would've been a disaster

I was willing against the two colluders to get it in, given their stack sizes and typical garbage holdings

Pretty much every PLO game I've seen in any casino. I learned my lesson at Horseshoe Cincinnati after getting into a 4 way all in preflop with double suited AA, losing to some garbage and watching the other two stacked players, not go to the cage for more chips, not put more cash into the table for chips from the dealer, but instead they both automatically reached into their pockets, pulled out a baggy full of $500 chips, dropped one each on the table and started again.

That’s the way we roll in Ohio!

Next time you talk to @ChaosRock, tell him I said hello!

I'm sure as flattered as Paulo would be, it was a non PCF. I sadly haven't talked to @ChaosRock in a while.

Definitely agree with the sediment, but I believe most regular recs are severely under rolled for the games they play, especially in PLO. In a game like this, if we are staying and playing knowing there is no enforced rules, then we need to expect an even higher variance standard. Potting 3 card hands into crazy players added in even higher variance element. Even the weekend warriors need to tread lightly as a game like this could easily cause massive, and usually devestating swings. :nailbite::nailbite:
