$0.25 Needed for Casino Aztar Indiana (Evansville) Set (1 Viewer)

Thanks all. I'm back to the Light blue Stardust chips. Perfect number, perfect mold, perfect spots, i'm just not sure the color is going to gel with my Aztar chips. I just worry there's not going to be any other good options in the quantity I need.

Nothing's final, brother. Any Pauson chips you buy, you'll be able to sell, if you change your mind or decide to go in a different direction.

Side by side comparison. Final thoughts?

I love the spot difference /progression.
The number of chips are available and priced right.
I think the mold is the same.
I think there is enough distinction between the $1.
Should the lighter blue bother me?

Don't mind me, but I can't help asking:

Have you considered not using a quarter chip at all -- just using your current Aztars -- by doing the old multiply by four, divide by four trick, and playing your game at 1/2?

In case you haven't come across this before, it means your players buy in as usual, as you would playing .25/.50, for, say $50. But instead of using quarter chips and giving them $50 in chips, you use your present chips, and give them $200 in chips. You then play your game as $1/$2.

When players cash out, you divide their total in chip by four, and give them that amount of cash. So if they have $240 in chips, you give them $60 in cash.

It works perfectly; it gives your players experience playing at 1/2, which mimics the casino experience; and it lets you get more of your $25 (or even $100) chips into play.

If you have, never mind. Continue on with the new quarters...

pltrgyst,

I have never heard of such a thing! I hate the fact that with old dice chips, I had to constantly remind everyone of the chip values...so that's one reason why they are going away. no offense, but I couldn't imagine having to explain this factor of 4 method to everyone.

It seems like interesting training for higher stakes though. Thanks for the idea.

I've tried it. I got looked at like I was a space alien.
(I still think it's a great idea - you just need the right crowd to accept it)

I think you could find a darker blue that might work. For example...

Not sure how much darker this is but it's an option.

Binion's is another choice but uses a 2V spot pattern, there options just have to search and figure out what you like the most.

I use light blue for my quarters (with white dollars) and love 'em.

I know you're just doing rough mock-ups at this point, but I'd suggest a different label shape for the quarter so it doesn't match the dollar quite so much. Gear Labels has lots of options for you to consider.

Personally, I'd go with a darker blue. Never settle when it comes to chips.

Fortune poker in Renton, WA has a nice looking dark blue $1 with 4 spots/2 colors.

Someone's sold a rack of thrse 1s on PCF classifieds, so there might be a member close to harvest. They are new as of last year. You could wait a while for the chips to be broken in to match the condition of your Aztars.
