Sluggo chips but it appears they have packaged it with a Versa 400 chip case which would have been a custom order from Costco. I ordered one and it is supposed to be here Wednesday. Will update when I get it but not bad for the case alone since shipping is included. We will see if the plastic cards are ok too.

OK, I hate searching the interwebz for something that I know exists, but don't know if it's commercially available.

Questions
Do you know that this case is Versa?
Can you buy the case on its own?
If so, how much is the case alone?

Was going to ask the exact same things, looks like a versa case, but never seen a versa case for 400 chips before, and if it is a Versa case, then that itself is a steal on its own since Versa cases usually go for more than $50 lol

Also interested if you can buy the case on its own

I don’t know. It looks like Versa but a 400 instead of 500 leading me to believe Costco custom ordered it? A versa copy??

Couldn't you have asked sooner?!?! :p

According to my brief search attempts, Versa either doesn't sell a 400 count case, or it's not a popular model.

The Costco case has a plastic insert for the chips whereas Versa's is wood. Versa has a keyhole in the center of each latch, the Costco does not appear to have locks.

400 chip cases are about as rare as can be, and I could use a couple, so looking forward to the review on this one :)

Thanks, do you have one of these? Was worried it was going to be plastic. How does the exterior of the case compare??

I have the Versa 500 birdcage case and the handles look identical. 1st photo is the Costco website and 2nd photo is my case:

Costco had these specially made for them. It sure looks like the Versa case, handle looks just like my versa 500. You can watch the cheesy video here:
Those card boxes look like bicycle prestige boxes. The cards themselves look unfamiliar.

Yes I thought the same thing and I hope they are. Costco does have the group buy power to get some cool quality stuff. Fingers crossed

I noticed that as well. They are probably decent quality. I'm not a huge fan of the index, but whatever.
Potentially good case, potentially good cards, good breakdown of chips.

Now if only the stated weight of the chips is incorrect, these are a deal.

Hmmm, I wonder how terrible these chips would be if relabeled? A buddy wants "a custom set of chips", but is NOT a chipper. Currently using dice chips.
The case looks sweet -- and honestly, the chips don't look terrible, if relabeled?

No, I don't have one of these, just going off of the image.
Couldn’t tell that the trays were plastic from the images I saw. Almost ordered 3 of these as I never can find 400 chip cases which can be perfect size for gifts

They look a lot like the "Official Casino" chips used at my local - Playground Poker Club. ChipGuide attributes them to Bud Jones, but they weigh about 13g each, so I'm not sure about the BJ part.

EDIT: Hmm, Chipguide no longer attributes these to Bud jones. that makes a lot more sense to me.

Not to mention that 400 chips is a great size for a single-table tourney set breakdown. If you ever travel with chips in tow.....

Amazon has some faux-leather cases that hold 400 chips plus cards/buttons/accessories, along with several other sizes in a similar line. They're sold by George & Company (who also sell the infamous "LCR" dice game and who own the MD-75 Flowers clay chip mold) but apparently some of them are also branded "WOOZZONG" which is probably either the Chinese manufacturer or a Chinese middleman trying to cut George&Co out of the loop on Amazon.

Here's the 400-chip case: https://www.amazon.com/Capacity-Poker-Chip-Card-Case/dp/B0052YGKY4/

Here's some other sizes in the same style: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=George+&+Company,+LLC+case

Some only hold chips, some remove one row separator to swap out 100 chips for cards and accessories.

I have the 300 chips-only case and it's okay. Nothing to write home about, but nothing wrong with it. It looks nice. It didn't cost much.
