    PCF Wine appreciation thread.

Oh, wow! One of the four Ridge bottles I brought along on this cruise to Lisbon, this is by far the best wine we've tasted in the last ten days. Rich, smooth, perfect from the moment it was opened. As much as I love Ridge zins, this one outdoes almost all of them. Perfect with Osso Buco and...

    Let's Talk Casablanca .

Yep -- Mosque Hasan II. That's where I got my stitches and smashed a good pair of glasses. Beautiful place, but those beautiful damned tile floors are hard!

    Let's Talk Casablanca .

Just joking around, since the thread title is simply "lets talk Casablanca", and it's pretty well known that I have a set of at least 1500 of the chips. Chips and ships, what's the difference? :cool (Casablanca tomorrow -- no chips, very little food, almost no alcohol -- and this year, I hope...

    Let's Talk Casablanca .

There's no rejection of anything there. It's a simple fact that the vast majority of Casablanca restaurants (the exceptions being a few large hotels) do not serve meals during daylight hours in Ramadan, and most cruise ships are only in port during those daylight hours. Given that, most western...

    Denom on one side?

Some of us *hate* chips with the denom on only one side. Being feeble-minded, I find it distracts me mightily from the game, as I find myself constantly sorting my stacks so that all the denoms are up (as recently happened with one set at the SQM...). I wouldn't take such a set as a gift...

    Let's Talk Casablanca .

Difficult thread to read, since our ship will be in Casablanca in about 36 hours. Wish I could just hop over to the casino and pick up a few racks! Sadly, it's enough of a challenge to get a decent meal there during Ramadan. Timing is everything... :(

You mean you need to ease them away from games requiring focus, concentration, thought, or patience, into games their tiny thrill-seeking minds can handle. :cool

Cash Game Want to try Limit at my home game

Use all your current chips from quarters to $5s as $1. You'd thus have 880 $1 chips. Use the $25s and $100s at face value as needed.

Why would a retirement community in Florida think banning poker is a good idea?

The Villages is unique, even in FL. We have more than a few Villages refugees down here around Sarasota/Bradenton. IMO, the restrictive atmosphere up there is stifling, and not healthy -- we never even considered it as a possible retirement location.

    Hello from Maryland!

Damn, had to do my own work: "Glenelg is the ancient and modern name derived or compounded of Gleann and seilg, signifying the valley of hunting or glean and elid signifying the valley of the roe." And I thought I had Sundays off...

    Hello from Maryland!

You have to love any town with a palindromic name! Do you know where the name came from? Apart from Scotland, the "Glen" part is obvious, but the "elg"? Lord Glenelg, yes, and a place name on Mars to boot! (Ex- Catonsville and Gaithersburg here...)
