Tourney Cash Set for Small Tourney?

.25-.25 blinds with several different games. Buy-ins range from $30 to $60 and even $100 from one player. The other night got to just under $600 on the table

Tourney Cash Set for Small Tourney?

That's a fair statement. But I'll add that he literally thanked me today for improving his game setup overall. But I will back off on the tourney first thing. At one point he had a structure with 600T starting stack and 1/2 blinds to start, for a $5 tourney. I just couldn't help but insert...

Tourney Cash Set for Small Tourney?

Ha... yeah, had the rebuy period last too long. My bad. Next time I'll end the rebuy period earlier and possibly skip a blind level so it will end sooner. I'm shooting for sub 2 hours for this. If the buy in was more than $5 I'd have a slower schedule. Another option is just doubling...

Tourney Cash Set for Small Tourney?

Brought my set to a poker night at my buddies place. He prefers a cheap tourney before cash so I set it up. Decided a on a smaller starting stack since we weren’t looking for this to last all that long. $60 starting stack 16 - $.25 16 - $1 8 - $5 Had 9 players and 7 rebuys. The initial...

Cash Game Critique this Cash Game set up

This game was at a friends house and he has kept cash game blinds at .25/.25. When I host I plan on .25/.50. Different player pools as I live an hour away and I feel they play close enough together. On this particular night we played a tournament before the cash game. So cash only allowed...

Cash Game Critique this Cash Game set up

Me too. But pot limit stud before was a more exciting game in the rotation and this time was kind of "meh". One guy picked 5 Card Stud to see what it was like and we all went with it. It was awful. We already banned it from the list.

Cash Game Critique this Cash Game set up

So we played over the weekend and had one round of 7 Card Stud which we did the $1/$2 betting limits. We have previously played Stud as pot limit but it felt like it played too big. The $1/$2 felt too small and the fixed limit aspect was not something the players were used to at all. So we...

    800 chips in Apache 4800

Re-arranged my 800 chip set up. I like this better than what I had. Can see all the racks at once this way. They aren't difficult to get out of the case on gameday. The Medicine Tube is for actual quarters. I also keep a bank money bag in the case for holding the buy-ins.

    Tourney Two Buy-Ins?

This is super interesting and something I've never seen or thought of before. Looks like a great way to break in new players into a game that don't want to risk as much. Keeps all players within their own comfort zone. I like it.

Cash Game Appropriate Fixed Limit conversions

Buy-ins for our crew will average in that $50 range. Some more, some less. Most will rebuy but not all. I think for our game the 1/2 limits would be the most appropriate due to that buy in range.

Cash Game Appropriate Fixed Limit conversions

I’d go that route if I was looking to host a limit only night. What I’m looking for is limit game options played the same night as .25/.50 Hold’em and PLO games.

Cash Game Appropriate Fixed Limit conversions

Something I thought up. Haven't tried it in play. What do you not like about it? I know its not traditional but it seems to be a nice compromise between 1/2 and 2/4. Especially since the voting is split evenly between the two options right now.

Cash Game Appropriate Fixed Limit conversions

What we are talking about is in regard to Stud games. Stud has 5 betting rounds so Rounds 1&2 are $1. 3&4 are $2. Round 5 would be $4. Omaha just being 4 betting rounds streets 1&2 would be $1, streets 3&4 being $2.

I was pretty proud of myself for thinking of that one but it currently has zero votes!

My mistake for not including the ante. I now have edited the OP to say in each scenario it would be a .25 ante.

Cash Game Appropriate Fixed Limit conversions

This poll is in relation to another thread I made entitled Critique this Cash Game set up. It seems there are varying opinions on what limits the Stud games should be that would fit best with the average .25/.50 hold'em game. Looking to see if there is an option that leads the way. I know not...

Cash Game What do you think of this chip breakdown for 25c/50c up to deep stacked 1/3?

I think your breakdown is great. I went with 200 fracs in my set for the same reason. If I have a more than one table then each table gets 100. If all at one table everyone gets a barrel.
