So I decided to get weird and quickly oil up the barrels of 400 cincy 5s. I think they turned out alright.

I bet my wife is going to ask why the heck I have mineral oil on the shelf all of a sudden.

What other types of oil would you suggest other than mineral oil?

fairly certain you should stick to a heavy mineral oil only.

anything else might contain scents or others additives that might cause the chips to feel tacky/sticky and in turn cause them to basically attract dust, dirt and have other build up on them causing them to not feel or look so great.

mineral oil will seal the chips off and leave them smooth, unscented and cause their color to be vibrant once cured.
