Barely functional. I doubt it's comfortable, especially on the arms.

I think those trays are magnetic so you don't lose your slugged dice chips.
I suppose it could double as a buffet server.

What is that bizarre protrusion where the rail doesn't quite meet up on the end? Also, it's a laminated wood surface. Lovely. The piles of trash strewn about the room really sell the class and mystique of this piece.
