If I could keep the table out permanently that was pretty much exactly what I would do.

While @Mr Tree does indeed have a good sized house, I suspect the basement is not always setup for poker. I suspect the family actually uses it as well.

No go, but the table we did get has a protective topper that is faux leather on one side and felt on the other so it's at least usable as a poker table even if not perfect.
