Welcome to the SpeakEC. This project was started about a year ago, even though I have this concept in mind for a long time. As you can see, the name is a play on words, using EC for Ellicott City, my home town. I’ve always wanted to incorporate Ellicott City in the design, but struggled for the longest time. I came up with the name, and started research and contacted 2 designers. In the end, I went with J5, and the rest is history.

The clock that you see is at the base of Main Street, in historic Ellicott City. While many towns have a clock similar to this, this one is special. On the afternoon of July 30, 2016, a storm passed over Maryland. This storm dumped heavy rains for a few hours; however, the heaviest part continued over EV for hours causing massive flooding. The flooding was so bad that many buildings and cars were destroyed. The clock, being at the bottom of the hill, was wiped out. Once the storm stopped and recovery efforts resumed, the clock was found, but was very damaged. They put the clock, in it’s damaged state, back on its pedestal. A year or so later, they. Clock was replaced, and shines on.

The time on the clock is 7:16; when the national weather service declares a state of emergency.

Some of the chips are inspired from some of my favorite sets, the 100 is based on the WSOP 818 hundred, using red instead of brown. The 1000 and 5000 are based on the Aztar spotted tournament set. The bounty chip uses the colors of the MD flag, one that most every Marylander loves so much.

I regularly host a 30 person tournament, so, I got this set that can handle all events. I can stretch it to 50 players if needed as well.

Breakdown:
400 x T25 (green, with canary and DG tiger)
400 x T100 (Gray, with red and imperial blue)
200 x T500 (lavender, with black and DG green)
300 x T1000 (DG Tiger, with DG peacock and bright white)
100 x T5000 (canary, with mandarin red and charcoal)
50 x T25,000 (DG peacock, with arc yellow and blurple)
50 x bounty (Retro Red with black and canary)

Absolutely gorgeous, not a bad one in the bunch. The upper denoms (1K, 5K, 25K) though are the show ponies of the set. Those starting stacks look so good. And the inlay is quite a looker. Just a fantastic job! (y)(y)

Absolutely Fantastic set Mark!!! Congratulations man, very, very well done... I hope to be playing with those soon! :sneaky:

I’ve had more chance to play with circle square chips and love them! What a great mold!

I look forward to a stack of those in person at your meetup! Outstanding design!

Very nice set. The colors work perfectly together. The inlay works great with the mold, too. Congratulations!

Beautiful set Mark

Inlays are nice :)

Congratulations .... very well done !!

Fantastic set Mark and great execution on every aspect.

The cash mockups look equally nice.

Hope everything has settled down there in Ellicot City from the storms. This is a very cool set you have designed. Awesome job. If you every do a run of Dealer Buttons for this I'd be interested in buying one if you have any for sale. Thanks.

What a cute little set, and a 4 year-old thread bump.

4th add-on placed, and what started as 1500 chips will now be 2200 chips without bounty chips, or 2460 (plus extras) with the bounty chips. The set will now have 13 different spot patterns across 7 denominations and 3 bounty chips.

Here is a preview of 12 of them. (the 13th is the red bounty chip pictured above). Chip Designer only lets you save 12 chips. The White "25k" chip will actually be a 100k chip. The FINAL set will be the following:

600 x T25 (500 primary + 100 commemorative)
600 x T100 (500 primary + 100 commemorative)
300 x T500
400 x T1000 (300 primary + 100 secondary)
200 x T5000
80 x T25,000
20 x T100,000

40 x Red Bounty (v1)
60 x Black Bounty (v2)
60 x White Bounty (v3)

Commemorative Inlay not created yet, so, that will have to be a surprise. Chips are currently bagged up for my year-end game on Saturday, so I am unable to take a current family picture.

"FINAL set.." :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO:
When the wife saw the "Paypal sent to Classic Poker Chips" for that last add-on, and had a fit ...

yes, it's FINAL.

Here are the other secondary chips I had planned, but couldn't justify adding them (especially another rack of 500's, when I have plenty). All subtle changes that blend in with the originals.

New Chips arrived today, no April Fooling about it. Thanks to @Johnny5 for all of the great work on these chips.

The 25 and 100 have the 5 year commemorative logo with Alt spots. The 100 now resembles the t100 from the spotted Aztar set (like the t1000 and t5000). This set is officially COMPLETED!!!!

2360 chips in total (plus about 140 extras)

600 x t25
600 x t100
300 x t500
400 x t1000
200 x t5000
80 x t25,000
20 x t100,000
40 x red bounty
60 x white bounty
60 x black bounty.

One of my favourite custom inlays. @Johnny5 is a magician.

Knocked it out of the park with the Anniversary chips - what a great idea as an add-on to a set.
