CPC prices (1 Viewer)

CPC adds brass flakes to increas the weight of the chips. Paulson sometimes adds aluminum flakes as a security feature. Personally, I don't like the look of either one.

I love Fleck. :) Add Fleck to everything. Fleck this, Fleck that!

Me, I would say level 5 and above. I say that because a large percentage of the spot patterns are lvl 5 and below. I can’t get to the tool to verify that. Generally, pending mold, anything level 2 and above is $2+. I’m not knocking any sets or anything, I was generally curious.

Like others, I try to keep a bulk of my spot patterns at a lower level to save some expense. I’m jealous of those that can use a lvl 5+ spot for the workhorse chip. I wish I could have done that, but you are talking upwards of $4-5 per chip.

I was thinking similar to BG, with the main levels listed at 1-5, and 4+ being on the higher end of that scale. The "Complex" chip spots/patterns is a separate document, and I thus deemed it pretty uncommon (for normal folks), and I'd deem those 5+ as very high to extremely high lvls.

I took no offense. The vast majority of my set is lvl 4+, with a lvl 10 chip in the mix, and toss in shaped inlays (53c ea), CSQ mold, most all premium colors, and I was only using my set as an example of how a set with premium options doesn't need to cost $4/chip, and how many sets can be had in the $2/chip realm.

You can do an entire set in level 5 chips on the A Mold for $2.46 per chip. The most expensive would be Diamond Square Mold at $3.12 per chip.

Yeah, I ended up staying simple with my set for the described reasons - though my $100 chip did end up pushing over $4 per chip on last year's prices - L9 + bright white base.

CPC is worth it, but only if you think it is worth it.

You will get far more "Ooos and Ahhhhs" when you run up the high level designs (I went to level 9), but seriously, maybe 1 in 10 players realize that the chip is worth it, and they're all on this forum. Even then, some jack-ass will say you should save the top level chip for your top denom (they call it "spot-progression"), and then your most expensive chip will spend most of the night in your case - maybe not even making an appearance if you are short-handed one night, or have few rebuys.

Get advice here, but be willing to throw it out the window. Just know why you choose to ignore the advice, and you will never be wrong.

Regular unweighted are the same price as weighted.
Dayglo as base costs a small premium, iirc it was 11c.
Bright white as base costs a crazy premium, iirc over 50c per chip.
The prices are on their website, check out the other subpages.

So I spent about 3 hours today designing a set using cpc designe site. Probably should have done it first, but after I looked at the prices. Guess I was naive, but I was suprised to see my what seems basic design would cost 3-4$ a chip. I havent sent over my saved set design yet, but it made me think it might be better to peice together a used paulson set. Anyone order from CPC and have an opinion?

CPC is really the only option for custom chips, but to a lot the price my not be justifiable. Used sets retain their value better than new CPC since you're paying a premium for your design. Check out the Apache thread for their new Paulson offerings. It's a great deal for new Paulson as long as you're okay with the promo chip colors.

Bright white is a $.53 premium per chip.

Hi,

I see talking about « premium color » but on CPC price list, I can see prices for more complex edgespots or inlay shape but not for « premium » colors.

http://www.classicpokerchips.com/pokerchips/realclay/pricelist.htm

Are the premium color the so-called « unweighted » ?

What is the extra we have to pay for those colors per chip ?

One must go to their color chart page for custom chips and there is text there regarding which chips have premiums and how much per chip.

If you’re looking to get in cheaper you could got HS Atlantic’s....
CPC will stamp any denomination on any of the stock molds and 1,000 chips will only be $1304 shipped
I just got that quote from them a week or two ago.

I’m new to the scene, so others could give better advice on how well the Atlantic HS holds value...
It may not be a bad option to get a very nice set now and if resale is okay you could sell them off for a truly custom set down the line after exploring more, getting samples, etc.
