Quick tourney set breakdown input (1 Viewer)

I went with this breakdown for my AS set ->

20-player T10000 set
160 x T25
160 x T100
80 x T500
160 x T1000
25 x T5000
15 x T25K just because they look awsome

One table is 12/12 on 25/10 for 2 tables I use 8/8
The 5K chips are for rebuys

Regarding the ante my understanding is that it changes people's incentive somewhat when they all put an ante into the pot pre-flop. It's different from having the BB posting it. If it was only a matter of inflating the pot pre-flop then adjusting the blinds would achieve the same thing.

A bit off topic for the thread, but color me interested @BGinGARegarding ante's I would suggest a BB ante like many of the professional organizations seem to be moving towards. BB posts the BB and the full ante for the table. Speeds things up.

There's a difference for ante vs larger binds because the minimum bet doesn't change, it's additional dead money in the pot, and more of an incentive to defend your blinds or to open up lighter in late position.

I suppose there's some psychology there, as far as having everyone actually put money in the pot...but from a pure math standpoint there's no difference. Once they learn that it should play the same.

And table antes posted by the button in stud games simply speed up and simplify the whole ante process in games where the 'starting money' is not supplied by forced blind bets.

I see your point that upping the blinds and adding one BB ante for one person is different in terms of bet size. I guess my view on it is that it all depends on what the goal is and how you're measuring it. One argument in favor of everyone putting in the ante is that if you place that extra burden on one person then that one person might be more inclined to defend his blinds+ante, whereas it might be beneficial to instead have everyone post their share because it makes their stacks deplete more evenly. In other words, they end up having more of an incentive to not wait for that great hand when the stack size keep getting smaller and smaller if they just try to fold. It's the gradual depletion that's key in that argument. I suppose that's the psychological aspect.

Either way, I'm looking forward to trying something new.

Although speaking of new we might not be enough people for more than a cash game.... or a four-/five-person heads-up tournament maybe... hmmmm...

100% agree... Avoids having to hear "who's light?'" all night. If the pot's light, then the button hasn't put the ante in,
