Help with chip id (1 Viewer)

Prices below are what they would be worth to me personally, although I am only interested in the 20th Century chips to add onto my set. Some numbers are best-educated guesses..
Palmas $50s: 4-5 no idea, ask Paz or gmunny
20th Century $100: 100 - $2 each
Savannah Sun $25: 50 $4 each, and might be low by a lot
Mystery Chips: 50
Savannah Sun $5: 100 - $3 each
Harrah's 25c: 100 - $4-$5 each
20th Century $1: 100 - $2 each
Del Webb $100: 2-3 - $10-15 each
Mystery $100: 2-3

Okay we'd probably better get serious. I don't have much of a budget for this hobby and have been instead spending a fair amount of time and brainpower looking for deals with the intention of finding chips that I can turn into playable sets (and keep) or use to sell or trade for moar chips.

I'm not sure what I'll have to pay for these but I don't want the chips to get away from the community in case it is more than I'm willing to pay. If they are out of my reach, I'm happy to buy them for other chippers.

So, that said, I'd appreciate some advice on what my ceiling should be if I were to buy these for the sole intention of passing them along at cost to other chippers. Hopefully I'll get a good deal and can keep some and trade others, etc., but just in case . . . I don't want to spend $1500 on chips and be stuck holding them.

Looks like (from left to right)

Palmas $50s: 4-5
20th Century $100: 100 (including what's in the bag)
Savannah Sun $25: 50
Mystery Chips: 50
Savannah Sun $5: 100
Harrah's 25c: 100
20th Century $1: 100
Del Webb $100: 2-3
Mystery $100: 2-3

If this is a classifieds add I wouldn't pay anywhere near full market price. Especially if you are not going to see them in person before you get them.

See what they want for the chips. If that is the only pic on the add then they definatley don't know what they have there.

I'd offer them like a couple hundred bucks initially and guard their reaction. If they don't know what they have they will probably jump at it.

If you can see them in person then snap some pics and you will get an honest assessment of the value. Then you can feel more comfortable purchasing at a higher number.

If this is a set you are going to have to have shipped to you without seeing it in person then make sure the price is a number you would be comfortable with losing.

Scams do happen on the classifieds..... I have been scammed a couple times since hunting for chips. But it hasebt been for alot of money, and the good finds have far outweighed the couple scams.

Tim, whar's a fair value on the Oceansides? $2 per chip in good condition?

Thanks for the advice, but these will be inspected and picked up in person :)

The white are oceanside club card $10 and I believe the pink are the $2 from same.
Good call! The edge spots on the pinks confirm they are Oceanside's, not Harrah's:

I think those mystery hundos hiding in the pile in the middle might be Condado Beach :)

Has some random built an epic mixed set here?
That would seem to be the case, sorta. Breakdown is a little weird, but if they have just been accumulating random racks, they did a pretty good job:

All older heavy-weight leaded Paulsons, and 80% of 'em with real shaped inlays. Not a single bad-looking chip in the bunch, either.

100x $1 20th Century
100x $2 Oceanside Card Club
100x $5 American Cruises
50x $10 Oceanside Card Club
50x $25 American Cruises
100x $100 20th Century

500 chips, with a few Palmas Club (ASM) and Del Web's Sahara (C&J) bonuses.

Yep, retail price, I usually pay less for quantity since not too many folks have use for them. The $10 are usually very good to excellent $2s a little more wear.

it's happening . . . negotiating . . .

got 'em! $450.

this was an out-of-state purchase facilitated by my awesome brother, who will be sending me pictures soon and i'll update the thread.

i know there is a lot of interest in these chips but at this price i'm going to have to wait and see what i think of them once they're in hand, whether this is a set i would actually put into play, and if not see what trade possibilities they open up for adding onto my other sets.

Interested in the 20th Century $100s (at least a barrel!) ($1s too, except I'm afraid of Dave), and the American Cruises $5s and maybe $25s too, if you are going to sell them.
But consider keeping them! What a super great find!!

Great score on the Crystal Park $1000s -- don't see many of those pop up anymore.

That line starts way back in post #15. :D

I can probably hook you up with a barrel of hundos, though. (y)

Depends on why they were canceled, by whom, and where. Nevada chips are literally shredded aka totally destroyed upon retirement.

Some places either drill or notch the chips, or both.

WOW.. What an amazing pickup! Nicely done.

I'd be interested in buying and/or trading for any & all LCV versions of the Savannah Sun $25s and $5s. (That is, trading my SCV chips for the LCV chips. All are in excellent condition.)
