abby99's Mixed-Game Cards

Resource abby99's Mixed-Game Cards (1 Viewer) New Version 2020-12-04

I'm trying to get a few games into a Word 2016 doc to print out. I can open the 2-across PDF but Word gets an error converting the the single column version. Any ideas?

In the 2-across version Word treats 2 games as a single image so I can't delete the game I don't want...

Thanks...

If you're using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader DC:

Individual cards can be printed directly from the main PDF file without having to convert it to MS Word. This can be done by printing pages one at a time (Current Page), or by entering the page numbers and/or ranges in the Pages to Print section. Change the page size to 3x5 card in the Page Setup section, and set Orientation to Auto Portrait/Landscape.

A new PDF file with a selection of cards can be created by selecting Print to Adobe PDF as the printer. Enter the page numbers and/or ranges in the Pages to Print section, change the page size to 3x5 card in the Page Setup section, and set Orientation to Auto Portrait/Landscape.
Individual pages can be deleted in the paid version. I use Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

These cards are great. Got them in action after our league game this week.

Some Omaha 3-2-1 Hi/Hi action. Played some Badeucy, Oakland Raiders, Badugi, 2-7 trip draw and some others.

I was just checking these out again and the A-5 triple draw has the best possible hand listed as 75432. That should be 6432A or 5432A right?

Thanks for the work, Abby!

Holding my printing for the most recent errata. :)

Is there a glossary of terms somewhere in the packet? I had to go look up what "bug" meant, for example. Could just be me, but having that at the table might be nice.

In 5 card draw, it completes a straight, flush or is an A. In A-5 lowball it's the lowest card not in your hand (ex. Holding A346* the * acts as a 2).

Thanks for the help! I'm not very familiar with PDF's except a collection of user manuals that I reference occasionally but never edit or print. Might I suggest including this extremely useful info in the file when you have a chance?

For some reason the PDF didn't give me a print-to-PDF option, but it did have an option for send-to-OneNote. That option doesn't have a 3x5 paper size so I set to Monarch Envelope in landscape. OneNote populated the page images pretty cleanly, but not being familiar with it, I used the send-to-Word output option to do the final layout and print. It took a bit of trial and error but I ended up with what I wanted.

Thanks again for the help!

Question on Banco - it states one card from each of the 3 piles if using the 9-card diagonal. The other 7 hands have one 3-card pile and 2 single cards. Am I correct to assume that more than one card from the 3-card pile can be used in those hands? (Otherwise the rule would simply be that only 1 card can be used from any 3-card pile - no need to mention the 9-card diagonal at all?)

Thanks...

You probably didn't have a pdf printer installed.

You're right - it was in my printer list but apparently not set up. I reinstalled and it now works, but I have to rename from .pm to .pdf after printing so I must still be missing a setting.

Or it may be because the pdf local port wasn't listed and I had to navigate to print-to-pdf through the print-to-filr node.

Anyway, thanks for pointing me in the right direction...

Correct. With 34 possible boards, Banco is a great exercise in board reading.

After limit Omaha and Omaha 8, Banco is the first Omaha variant that I learned. I love it!

Thanks! I'm still learning the correct terminology - would that be the 7 standard Omaha 5-card boards + 27 possible 3-card boards on the 9-card diagonal?

In any case it will take some practice to get up to speed reading all the possible hands. With lots of new possibilities on the turn and river, seems like plenty of potential for powerhouse hands on the flop to get whacked...

There will be more quads and straight flushes than usual, and no qualifying lows are rare. Be aware (and beware) of the nuts.

If anyone wants, I have PDF's of these files available with four cards to a page & the cards already colored. They can be printed on bright white index card stock for about $1.30/page via FedEx/Kinkos, & their rolling cutters there make cutting them down to size pretty handy. That's how I did the cards that were present at the Rumble.

Additionally, rather than lamination, I used gaming card sleeves. They come in packs of 100 for about $3.50/pack. Cheap, easy, and replaceable.

With Scotts help I used his files and placed an order with FedEx/Kinkos. I pick them up on SAT.

Played "little SoHE" the other night, but don't see it in the 'Abbys Mixed Games' list. Does it go by another name?

like SOHE but everyone dealt 5 cards face down , then split and capped into a 2 card and 3 card hands., the 3 card hand plays like Super Holdem.

think this might be my new favorite.. :)

I haven't heard of this one before. Sounds like fun, but given that there is no Omaha hand, it needs a new name, maybe SHESHE? (Simultaneous Hold'Em Super Hold'em)

That was my thought - cannot use an "O" without having an Omaha hand. I like SHESHE. LOL. :)

I REALLY liked this one. Induces a LOT of action and has opportunities for horrendous bad beats, straight flush over straight flush etc.

My home game has been getting into the dealer's choice games so started with @abby99 's amazing mixed game cards and re-worked the relevant ones for my group's preferences. They only like to play big bet flop games so I started with those cards and color-coded them for # of individual cards dealt to players and also listed how many players max a game works for (or if it can be played at all) on the variations we sometimes call - hi/lo, double board, 3-2-1 and triple board. This reduced the number of cards I needed to produce (ie don't have separate cards for Pineapple and Pineapple 8 now). I got these produced at makeplayingcards.com on 100% plastic playing card stock, 3x5 size and the price was very reasonable vs. doing something at Kinkos. I was really pleased with the quality. Looking forward to seeing what my players think!

There's an app a spreadsheet for that. I use filters to hide games that can't be played by a specific group (e.g., a 10-player table). If you all think it's useful, I can include it in the zip file.
