This is where the LOL Ridiculous Hands go (1 Viewer)

Ouch! Been there.

I fucking did it last week in PLO/8 in a PCF tourney.....online, where the cards are displayed on the screen 100% of the time and there is even the part where P* tells you in plain sight your hi and low hands. lol :rolleyes: I'm always doing 5 different things when I am playing those tourneys and I looked at my hand and formed some sort of dumb ass mental picture of what it was and apparently never once looked back at the part of the giant screen that displays my cards in four colors. It took me a good ten seconds of looking at the board in replay to figure out why I didn't get half the pot for the nut low I swear I made on the turn until I realized the card that completed my hand actually counterfeited me. I can fuck up most any way, just give me time. :ROFLMAO:

I once got it in with an open-ended straight flush draw against three flopped sets in theopening level of a $20 home game tourney (@krafticus was there I'm pretty sure). Bottom set actually folded after committing about a third of his stack before the final shove. Yes, I hit.

Let's not forget you hitting a 1-outer to make quads in a $2000+ pot at a home 1/2 game

Or Mark getting beat with a 1-outer to a gutshot straight flush

That happened to my buddy at a tournament a month ago. Him and the villian were by far the two big stacks; villain had him slightly covered. He's still kicking himself for mixing it up with that stack on the last hand before the break in the later stages of the tournament.
His nut flush got beaten by a one outer to the inside straight flush.
Ouch.

Yeah, I had raised with AQs and the flop was J79s. I slow played the flop. Turn was a brick. I started the hand with about 1200BB, he had about 450BB and we got it all in. He turns over 1 6s and hit the 8s on the river. I went on tilt, and lost the remainder of my stack running into another SF about 10-15 hands later

this happened to me last night @manamongkids weekly game.

little bit of LOL, but more of a Karma hand.

Playing 1/1 NLHE, i look down at AJo, i raise, villain re-raises, all fold except me, i raise again, and we are both pretty much all in with equal stack, i think i have $4 left.
So pot is about $190 both of us all in. I say "run it twice?"
villain, history of being easily agitated, says "show me your cards.... everyone sees cards before deciding"

I say thats not always the case, lets run it twice, he says "no, show me your cards and ill decide"

SO after a bit of back and forth, i show only the J. he says. "run it once, i've got queens" showing me the queens. I don't show my other card.
I still say, lets run it twice, its good karma... he says "why would I ? i have queens. i'm not running it twice"
I warn again about karma....
Flop is Axx he asks if i have an ace, and i look as disheartened as i could. Brick turn brick river.

I show the Ace, probably a little slow roll going on but barely noticeable .. LOL.

Same villain, little while later playing PLO, i'm playing blind (beers kicking in) i raise pre flop, all fold except Karma villain. He calls.

Flop comes. i bet, he calls,
River comes, i check . He bets. I call (still blind)

He tables his hand and shows KKxx board is rainbow of nothing. Except 3 hearts which he doesn't have. He says he missed his straight draw.
I roll my cards over 1 at a time, looks like a slow roll but i haven't seen them yet.
I take it down with a Jack high flush. Karma guy is NOT happy. :)

Now i know ,most reading this, would be thinking, Who the f. shoves all in with AJo? if you knew Karma villain, who is typical of shoving all in with 95 suited, you'd understand.

Playing $.25/$.50 after the tournament at @MikesDad game last night. I honestly don't remember the preflop action, but I'm sure there was a raise. I could have raised, or called ...

I look down at A6o and figure ...why not. 3 players to the flop. Both players have me covered. Flop is 578 rainbow. Small bet on the flop, with all calling. Turn Ac to put 2 clubs. I lead for $8, next player calls. Dennis raises to $36. I'm in a lol screw it mindset and call. Other player tanks and shoves. Dennis calls. I look at the pot, and my stack and call. Looking at my stack, thought I only had about $50 left, so I felt it was right. Turn ... 9. BINGO! Dennis flopped a set of 5s, other player had A7. After counting it out, had about $130 total... yeay for the donk move and triple up!!

Well this wasn't a ridiculous hand to begin with but i re raised a loose raisers $30 to $150 with ak suited, fully expecting a table full of folds.

The guy did a bit of a weird slow roll that looked like a fold then flipped over aa, not realising to call an extra $30 to see him.

Obviously I was massively behind, but I had to call the extra $30. A king came out on the flop and another on the river.

Filthy, but I'll take it.

Playing 1/3 live today at Potowatamie Casino... this hand just happened.

I'm sitting on $500 on the button. Villain has $300 ish in LP

Two limpers, $11 in the pot. LP opens for a huge overbet $22 (compared to the table norms). I look down at 88 and flat (anticipating a couple of additional callers). I'm rewarded by two callers, around $100 in the pot.

Flop comes 67Q rainbow, checks to LP, who continues for $35, I range him on AK or TT-KK, but Lean towards the AK. Even if I'm behind, I'm getting an ok price to call, which I do (everyone else folds). Pot is now $170.

Turn is a 9, I now have an OESD, and a medium pair. LP bets out $75, I peel off $75 and toss it in the middle. Pot is now $320.

River is gin, a T. LP shoves for his remaining $140, I toss in a chip to call and LP tables Q9o. I table my straight right away, and LP gets pissy, complaining about how I have no idea how to play... lol... probably true.

Not sure who's play was worse? Mine, or his for his 2x pot bet with Q9o...

Raises to 7bb preflop with Q9o.

Bets only 1/3 of pot with top pair against 3 opponents.

Binks top two pair on the turn and with a stack of about $215 and a pot of $170, he doesn't even bet half pot?

Then he shoves the river on a somewhat poor river card for his holding for his remaining stack.

I played 1/2 NLHE at Boston Billiards recently up here and saw some doozies...

Effective stacks are $300. I have QT and raise $10 OB. I get 3 callers, all in MP. Flop AAK. I lead for $15 and get one caller - an older gentlemen who I'm just playing my first hand with. We both check the 7 turn, and I call his $10 bet on the T river. He shows AK. Wha?!? I'm calling this guy Anti-Max Value (AMV for short).

I raise 56dd to $11 OTB and get raised by CO (aggro young kid with $100 effective) to $46. I call, everyone else folds. Flop AK6. He shoves for $55 more and I call. Turn 8. River 5. He gets up and storms out.

AMV checks-calls min-sized bets from a young aggressive player on a 333 flop, 5 turn, 2 river. He has K3. WHA?!? Confirmed he does not know young aggro player because young aggro player is laughing his ass off, making fun of him, and talking to his friends and pointing at him. Biggest rock I have ever seen. Said he was worried about straight flush coming. WHA?!?!?!

Another hand against AMV - I had 89dd and raise to $12 in the BB. 5 callers. Flop 944. I bet $25, only AMV calls. Turn 3. Check-check. I lead $25 on 7 river and AMV flats. He has 34 for boat. WHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAT?!?

Duh.

He was behind to 74, 94, 99 and 77. Gotta snug it up in these thin situations.

;)

Playing 1/3 at Baltimore Horseshoe. I'm in the BB with $360, villain on the button covers. Villain has been raising quite a lot of junk, especially in late position and tries to bully the table with big raises....and this hand is no different.
One limper to button/villain who makes it $12, I call with 22, limper calls.

Flop: 9-5-2 .. .woo hoo
I lead for $10, limper folds, villain makes it $30... I 3-bet to $80, villain makes it $200. I insta-shove and he insta-calls (oops??)
We decide to table our cards and he shows 97o

Blanks on the turn and river as villain says "I need a 9"

SHIP IT!!

Rediculous hand from last night.

Playing tourney. 60 Players total. $40 entry. Blinds at 300/600. I have 14-16k UTG with a full ring (10 Players). Villain to my left is well known, older maniac LAG calling station with a horseshoe up his butt tonight, and a monster stack. Table dynamics often result in some limped pots in this game, but LAG ain't having any of it, he's been re-raising my action at every opportunity (and doing so lite). I've called him down a few times, and he's had garbage that caught up (hence said horseshoe). He's been punishing everyone, not just me, I've tried to mix it up, and have tried limping, and he's raised with garbage. He's raised 100% of my action, if he comes into the pot. I've tried re raising him, and he just calls and gets lucky. It's poker and it's his night... I'm just waiting for a hand to to go to war with...

Then I look down at two black aces UTG and limp... LAG just flats, and the entire effing table lamps around. We see the effing flop 10-handed. I'm holding AA, and crying inside. NOW he chooses to flat call. I'm praying the entire time for someone to raise, please god, open up the action... nope! It was literally the first time he's limped ALL night..

Flop is brutal. K48 All diamonds. I lead out with a $5k chip, and the entire table folds... until the SB, who tank-calls. He's got the Ad, I'm sure... turn is the 2d, and I check fold to the SB's shove... grrrrrr.

It was a brutal session for me. :). Luckily I can take solice in the fact I'm hosting a two table tourney tonight, and im sure to run better!

If he's been three-betting you all night, why not raise and let him three bet you again? 25 bigs, an UTG limp looks awfully suspicioius. Also, I wouldn't lead out into 9 other people after that flop.you exacerbated your pre-flop mistake by wasting another 5k.

What kind of weird game are you playing where the SB is not first to act after the turn?

Makes more sense if he's on the button, which I think he was... oh well, he shoved, I folded. I lost the pot. I was ahead until the turn. He had a weak ace (unsuited). I wanted to charge flush draws, and lost. Meh.

Folding thread not here. Check under detriotdad dinner thread for folded hands.

From my tournament this past weekend.

Blinds are 100/200, and I'm sitting on about 9800 (from the original 11500 starting stack. (On time bonus) I'm in the SB, There is 1 caller before me (my wife's cousin). And I look down at A8hh. I say "should I limp and get beat, or raise and have you hit your junk?". I raise to 600. BB folds and she laughs, and reraised me to 1600. I'm taken aback and figure, why not. I called. The flop came out K94, 2 spades, 1 heart. I check and she bets 800. Weird bet, but I think if I hit my Ace, I'm good. I call. Turn was 6h. I check and she bets 1000. Again, with the flush draw, I call. River is a low heart. Bingo!! I shove my remaining stack. She tanks, and can't put me on a back door flush. She calls and I table. She has AKo and was floored.

Ooops!!

Love this thread...have 2 to share.

Exhibit A: Vegas
Outlet years ago, sitting in 1/2 NL table at Golden Nugget. Only jumped in to kill about 90 minutes before going to dinner with friends. Knowing this, I buy in light, just $100. Muck first 4 hands, when guy in suit, slicked back hair, and a half finished rock glass sits with $200. Turns out he was a car salesman from FL (or so he claimed).

I am in BB for his first hand (he is late pos). One limper, then to car guy, who pumps it to $25. All fold to me, I flat with QQ. Limper also folds.

Flop is Q-9-4 rainbow. I check, car guy ships it. I call, he rolls over A-10 off. I double.

Next hand, in SB, I find J-10ss. This time 3 limpers to car guy. He raises to $25. Again, I flat, and this time, 2 other limpers call.

Flop:JJ10

Checks to car guy. He ships. I jam over the top to clear out anyone who may hold higher pair (possible considering the players they were), and they fold. I table the full house. Car guy shows 66. I scoop.

Car guy calls floor, and asks where an ATM is, floor points it out. Guys asks to hold his seat, and they agree. He leaves.

As soon as he is out of earshot, i ask floor if we can hold the game until he returns. Table all nodding, and floor agrees. We wait 10 minutes before realizing: he ain't coming back.

Exhibit B: Tourney
Down to 3 handed, I am short stack with about 15BB. In SB with K3. Button fold, I limp, BB checks (I don't recall blinds, but they were approaching nosebleed).
Flop: K-8-4
I bet pot, BB ships to put me all in. I figured here is as good a spot as any, so I call. I flip K3, BB shows K2.

Chop, right?

Turn-2
River-2

I lament my misfortune, as BB gets up, runs into the other room to tell the cash game players "GUYS!!! YOU GOTTA SEE THIS!!!"
