Setting up our $1/1 deepstack game, finally got the Casablanca's into play. Man I run terrible when hosting for some reason though

When you say, run terrible, do you mean you don't catch cards, or you feel like your game is "off".

I ask because I host nearly all the time and some nights it's a distraction and I'd like to blame my poor performance on something besides me!

Probably a little bit of both haha

And the other night I was just starting to stage a comeback when people conveniently "had to leave (while up $200+)" and the game disbanded

That's the worst. If people do that too often just don't invite them back. I haven't had any problems with this recently but everyone knows what you're talking about.

Yeah, that's never good.

We have a start and end time. I know guys here don't do that, but it's a social game, but it helps to know how much time you have left to catch up. It doesn't change the cards and I ran out of time the other night, but at least I know when the end is coming.

We usually play til last round at 2am, but 4 players left at midnight, two actually had 7am tee times the next morning, the other two just didn't wanna be out late. Oh well, I was up $400 on wed, still net positive for the week

It's folded to the small blind who hadn't looked. Big blind asks, "wanna just chop?". Sb agrees. They roll over 72s and AA, everyone laughs, They run the flop and we all laugh more when it runs 9h7s2s. Easily amused I spose.

My home games for twenty years ran 7pm to midnight. If you had to leave before midnight, you were expected to tell me in advance. Staying to play beyond that was optional.

One strike, and you were out.

Sometimes you just have to be a hardass for the greater good....

Up and down and up night at the Music Shack. Up a hundo in the first hour playing PLO. At the time of the pic, up $150 four hours in now playing NLHE. Then my my bottom two ran into top/bottom two... In a small raised pot. Lost a hundo there. Then my flopped trips got riveted by a straight when I bet every street. That finished me off... Rebought. Caught AA a couple times and got paid off. Flopped a J high flush in a small multiway raised pot. Played it a little slow, check raised the turn. Bettor reraised all-in. I called, he had two pair... My hand held. $200 in, $380 out.

I had a similar night at Bubbles Poker Den. Forgot to take pics.

Thanks @ChaosRock

My stack at the end of the night, 2am-ish:

We played a rotation of 50¢/$1 NLHE and Limit $2/$4 Omaha and O8, thus the amount of $1s on the table. Low limit games to easy-in some guys new to Omaha... They are NLHE players and their comment at the end of the night: screw limit poker! next time we want pot limit! LOL!!!

Thanks as always for coming over @mike32 and @detroitdad !

I'm waiting for the right moment to introduce split pot games into our rotation. Granted my buddies are pretty receptive: we already play stud, razz, 2-7 triple draw, plo, and 5 card double draw, but they're still not quite ready.

However, when I do finally introduce O8, I hope I get a similar reaction and we can jump right to pot limit!

Finally got another game goin...

In for $200...up $100 +/- right now.

Just had 2 players hit boats on the turn for a $300 pot. 4s full of 9s vs As full of 9s.

Pic 1: 3 way flip for $150 each. I drew first: 2c. Sean drew second: 4c. Aman drew third: 3d.
Pic 2: I recovered from the $150 flip due to the generosity of one particular player who was kind enough to call a 2x pot bet on a flush draw with one card to come.

Love that cash set. What kind of cards are those?

Yeah the chips are much better than you might expect to see at a non-chip aficionado's game for sure.

Couldn't tell you about the cards. He usually uses Kems or Modianos with more traditional looking backs. The ones from the first pic above were only in play for a few hands due to the obvious dented backs of a couple cards in one of the decks, so I didn't get a chance to really get a good look.
