Hi,
I have made a list of things I'd like to do (and some I have to do) in 2020. To keep the list as interesting and motivating as possible I have put my poker room on to the list to work on the light, decoration, tv and so on. ;) Therefore I have spent some hours in the cellar and I'd like to keep you posted about the status.

What I have done so far:
  • remove old light (single cheap basement ceiling lamp)
  • extension the cabling for two ceiling lamps, and two "dmx led spots" + connecting them
  • installed some sockets for the led spots
  • set up an old mac mini + wifi + tv
  • did some decoration (mostly beer promotion - because I am German and I love German beer) :whistling:
  • cleaned the cellar from the drilling dust
  • cleaned the cellar again.... and again... (that was quite a lot dust and dirt)
  • took some quick mobile shots... please, enjoy :watching:

What are the next steps:
  • build some side tables (therefore you can see some empty beer racks, which will be the base frame)
  • connect the led spots to my controller
  • get some poker decoration and find the right place to put it on the wall (any recommendations???)
  • replace the light from the beer promotion signs to led and connect them
  • get a larger tv without telling my wife, maybe a beamer - a man should have goals?!
  • build a bar with a fridge and a draft beer option
  • change the beer tent to a something else
What I have missed:
  • taking some pictures before I started :banghead:

I live close to Düsseldorf and work in the area around Düsseldorf and Cologne.

You may have German „Pilsener“, Altbier or Kölsch. All kind of lokal beers.

I am happy to try any beers!

I should start to organize a meetup in my area, in which I'd focus on having fun with you guys while
  • drinking beer (and gin tonic) all day
  • having bbq all day
  • visiting cities like Düsseldorf or Cologne (well, no bbq there, but a lot of.... beer)
  • and play some poker at my little "copy paste - """seeking alpha social club"""" because at my home games it's not about the money... :whistling:
  • well, there is a golf court within my 5 minute zone, but I have never tried to play before - maybe you could play there - if needed and if you are still able after all these beers and bbq. o_O
@BonScot I saw that you try to organize a meetup, which I would happily would participate, but I'll have my kids at this long bank holiday weekend, because my wife is on a short holiday trip. Nevertheless I'd like to make some promotion for your plans!!!

My meet up is currently lying in the morgue. It’s as dead as a dodo. Good luck organising yours. I think that so far there’s been Munich, Vienna and Glasgow meet ups that never got off the ground. Best bit of advice I can give you is to get a deposit from anyone who says they’ll attend. That’ll give you an idea of who’s serious about attending. This is the voice of bitter experience...

I would also recommend waiting a bit, theres alot of hooplah going on around spreading illnesses right now.
I was really bummed about your meet up Tony, that sounded so fun! I think this year is just crazy booked, may be worth trying to plan for a year in advance... it's also annoying to get a passport if you dont already have one.... I've never had a passport (that I know of, my mother might know) but I've never traveled out of the US. For Ben and I our biggest hurdle is always leaving the pets

Yes, I think you are absolutely right. I saw that you are asking for a deposit and I think it's fair enough.

Iife can be short and it would be nice to implement such plans into reality, because I simply love this fucking game and particular poker chips for sure. I hope these thoughts won't change in the next days and whether I will return to business as usual. I will keep you posted.

It was over a year in advance. Got a lot of interest from people saying they would go. So glad I asked for a deposit before I went ahead and booked anything. Only two people actually paid it. I would have been out a couple of grand had I went ahead and booked the accommodation etc.

Wow.. boo people

Okay, it has been a while since I updated this thread. Here we go:
My wife and I built a bar, dj desk, bar tables and chairs using euro pallets (flamed off and impregnated).
